The color of this brew is clear orangeish brown with a large off-white head, and the aroma blends rye with floral hops. The taste is a very nice combination of a slight bitterness and a mild sourness that lets the rye and hops dovetail nicely, and the palate fuses a slick texture, medium body, long finish, and a soft carbonation.

tap at the taproom-pours deep orange almost birght amber with a small soapy white head. nose is floral with bright citrus nothing great but decent. wow flavors of bright citrus primarly but has an anoying mineral aspect maybe from age? the mineral medcinal bitter metallic finish with a hint of resin long into the finish. It kind of has hop flavors somewhat similar to two hearted ale but with the aforementioned annoying mineral qualities. Overall a decent beer but nothing special.

draft... one of the best rye ipas i’ve had, keeps the rye in balance and doesn’t let it run away with beer, worth getting

Cask at the STLHops 3rd Anniversary Party at Schlafly Tap Room. Pours a cloudy amber color with a small off-white head. Aroma of spicy rye up front, herbal hops, grapefruit, earth, and floral notes. Flavor of rye, herbal and floral hops, grapefruit, earth, and doughy malts. Lingering bitterness. Medium-bodied, with low carbonation from the cask treatment, and a malty, bitter, spicy mouthfeel. Cool beer, and nice collaboration.

Tasted on tap at the International Tap House in St. Louis, Missouri. Medium to dark orange appearance that’s a bit hazy. Pretty hoppy aroma. Quite floral hoppy flavor.

Draft at Bigelo’s. A reddish beer with a small but steady tan head. My pint glass was cloudy but the ones at the next table were clear. Aroma is almost all hops. A very well brewed beer and one that really made no effort to balance. Caramel was evident but was light. This beer was all about the hops. Pine, grapefruit, and a bit of floral. Some spice and some toastiness along with rye. Finish was not strong. A very nice IPA.

On tap at The Tap Room - Pours dark amber / copper with a good sized off-white head. The aroma has lots of rye spiciness and lots of hops with heavy grapefruit, some pine, floral and woodiness. There is also some dryish toasty malt. It has a medium body that is very sturdy and has flowing semi-sharp carbonation. The taste is much like the aroma with lots and lots of spicy rye and big amount of hops and an overall dryness to it. the finish has some hop resin clinging to the mouth and a breadiness that seems a bit like drinking rye bread & that really works nicely. Well done collaboration between Schlafly and Bigelo’s.
