MaxPower (961), St. Louis, Missouri, USA Jun 9, 2002 Updated: Jan 16, 2003Dark brown almost black in color, has a average foamy clingy tan head that leaves a clingy blacing in my glass, has a sweet fruity, bready and smokey aromas. Nice sweet fruity cherry smokey flavors, balanced with a decent amount of hops, nice burnt bitter finish, medium body with a smooth creamy mouthfeel, pretty damn good. rdawson321 (145), USA Apr 9, 2006 One of the best scotch ales I’ve had. Excellent- dry, slightly fruity, with a bit of toffee and chocolate. Highly recommended. Jedsbrew (465), Rhineland, Missouri, USA Jan 27, 2004 Very dark amber/copper color with a minimal head and fair lacing. Fruity and lightly smoky aroma, plums, apple butter and fudge with a very faint sour or vinous note. This ale had a good medium body and was fresh tasting and creamy, with lots of toasty malt, caramel and background chocolate in the flavor. Clean smooth finish, a little sweet and a little dry, that just made me feel like having another one. Cheers! MOboy (382), Kansas City, Missouri, USA Sep 22, 2002 Characteristic "peat smoke" presence. Very smokey taste and typical malt dominance. Good example sethdude (518), St. Louis, Missouri, USA May 18, 2004 Updated: Sep 11, 2004On tap at Blueberry Hill...pours a deep red hue, almost no head at all. Aroma is malty and warm, with a hint of alcohol and hops. Flavor is of sweet malts, dark fruit, and a bit of hops at the end. Finish is quite sweet. Very enjoyable.
