Described by STLwill as a light scotch ale, and he is on point with that description. Light malt aroma. Malt flavor, and some brown sugar. Lacks the full flavors or sweet character of better scotch ales.

12oz bottle, no date. Thanks to Eric (heemer77) for picking this up for me. Clear copper brown with a 1/2 finger off-white head, faded to a thick ring and tattered film. Lots of caramel, light smoky peat, and some toasted malts. Flavor fell a little short, though some hazelnuts did show up towards the finish. Backing up a bit, the caramel was weaker with some toast coming more to the forefront. Minimal smoky peat noted. Light prickly carbonation with a medium body. Not too bad, just a little bit diappointed.

Thanks to STLWill for sharing. This was maybe a dark amber color, but it was really closer to gold. No head. Sweet malty aroma. A little caramel and grain taste. Just a bit of peat smoke and fruit. Way too lite for a Scotch ale.

Sampled at Cellar’s Wine & Spirits in St Paul, Minnesota and shared by STLWill. Pours a clear dark copper amber brew with a thin off-white head that quickly dissipates to a fine film and thin white ring. Aroma of caramel malt, some peat, dark pitted fruits and some flowery hops. Taste is a little gritty, medium bodied, with flavors of caramel malt, a touch of brown sugar, toffee and roasted nuts. Finish is semi-sweet, with a light raisin and toffee aftertaste.
