Lightly barreled and pretty well done. Even though there isnít much to this beyond barrel its still good. Light caramelized malt and some hint of candy. Like a mini barley wine. Dark amber pour with OK head. Bittersweet finish with some booze. Tap at world of beer.

on tap @ Party Town / Florence KY --- Clear amber brown color, light beige head cover, strips and dots of lace. Taste is malt that shoves a burst of fizz and alcohol into the swallow, followed by smooth oak and mild English hops on the finish. Easy to drink, but enough alcohol to remind you of the potency. Solid. Recommended.

Draft taster at Whole Foods. Lite brown/copper with small offwhite head. Lite bourbon, caramel malt, oak, vanilla, flora. Ok, but contrived.

Had on tap at their place on Locust Street in STL. Pours a darkish amber with a thin off white head. Aroma is lots of bourbon and oak, with a strong malty backbone. Flavor follows with mild bitterness and toffee and caramel. Very clean. Very nice beer. One of my favorites of all that they have done. Wish this one was available in bottles. Super nice.

On tap at the Tap Room. It poured a dark amber color with a small off- white head. The aroma was of caramel with some vanilla and bourbon. The taste was of malts, with hints of vanilla, oak and booze. Very tasty.

4 oz pour on draft at Meridian Pint during their Schlafly Total Tap Takeover. Clear amber with off-white head. Aromas of bourbon, caramel, vanilla, light floral notes. Tastes of bourbon, caramel, vanilla, coconut, dark fruit, light floral notes. Medium body with a dry finish. Nice blend.

"this was a very interesting and complex beer. the aroma had a ton of oak, with some vanilla, pepper, and hoppy undertones. the body was nice, and the beer was quite a warmer as it reached the bottom. the flavor was very complex, but i do wonder if iíd have like the barleywine bourbon aged by itself a bit more than the barleywine/pale blend. iím a hophead, but the mix of hop aftertaste with bourbon was a bit odd. not bad, just odd. overall, it was a tasty unique brew that iím glad i got to try. from a trade with bluesandbarbq."

From notes. Tasted on 6/30/12 at the 1st Annual Chimipalooza, from bottle. Pours clear burnt orange with a thin beige head that quickly disappears. The nose is banana, caramel, and plenty of toffee, vanilla, and cinnamon barrel. The flavor is really all barrel, with a just a bit of malt. The body is medium with average carbonation and a medium banana and vanilla/caramel barrel finish.

UPDATED: NOV 26, 2014 12 oz bottle bottled on 20 Feb. 2014 Nice deep amber color with good carbonation. Good mouthfeel: approaches 4. Obvious bourbon, especially in tasting, but not so much as to completely overpower the nice malt base. Satisfying woody flavors from the barrel too. BBL does dominate the aroma.
