Damn fine IPA. Agree with many of the other reviews that think this is the best IPA they’ve tried in awhile. Very light malt profile. The very citrusy and grapefruity hops are showcased here. Nice bitterness. Lighter body makes it easier to drink. The hops are bountiful yet don’t overwhelm your palate. Great beer.

Yep, one of the best ipa’s I have ever had the pleasure of drinking. The head was tiny with little lacing. It was a bit piney but the hops were were so eye opening that it smoothed out the sweetness that was on the finish. So glad I picked this up. A true IPA legend that I won’t forget.

Clear, pale gold with a white head. The aroma has some nice grapefruit and mild pine. It has a light, oily texture with lively carbonation. The taste is pretty sweet for an IPA, but there is bitterness in the background.

UPDATED: DEC 26, 2012 Simply one of the best IPA’s I’ve had the pleasure to partake of. Awesome on the nose with citrus very evident. My kind of IPA and by that I mean it smells awesome, tastes awesome and finishes the same. Dry, bitter and not very sweet - hops with just enough malt to give it a balance. Pours clear, deep gold with moderate white head. A great addition to the Schlafly lineup!

November 6, 2012 on tap at cicero. Clear golden pour with head and spotty lacing. Seemed to be more piney hops but maybe a touch of citrus in the aroma. Taste was consistent but it was balanced very well with the malt. Light carbonation and thin bodied.

dear...lord...The hop aroma startled me not just in it’s pungency or potency, but also in the fact that it reminded me of sweat. And I thought to myself "this is the only time i will say that sweat smells good, someone should bottle this stuff" bear in mind that i thought that while sniffing out of a bottle...Kevin, the beer guy at my local beer store poured me a taste of this in store and wow...it smells like grapefruit and oranges, and lemon and sweat all rolled in one! It tasted like that too, but to a slightly lesser degree. I had to buy the six-pack, and i did. and it was awesome. you should too if you get a chance.

A nice twist on the traditional IPA. Golden color, modest head and hoppy aroma. The Australian hops are more mellow as compared to the AIPA but still have the big hop taste. Every bit as good as the stalwart AIPA just different.

Draft. Gold pour, big white head, excellent retention/lacing. Aroma of melon, citrus, pineapple hops, caramel malt. Taste is big melon/citrus hop bitterness, moderately caramel malt sweetness. Palate is oily, soft, moderately bitter finish. Nice.

Pours a clear jgold with a 2 finger, creamy white head that has great retention and leaves nice lacing. Very strong aroma, lots of pineapple heavy tropical fruit, grass, citrus, some cat box, a little cereal and mineral notes. Flavor is sweet, cereal and toasty up front, giving way to lots of tropical fruit, more passionfruit than pineapple, bitter citrus, planty hops, some cat box (in a simcoe kind of way), mineral notes and a little planty garlic. light bready yeast and toasty malt. The finish is where it sort of falls apart, the garlic and simcoesque cat box notes seem to build up on the palate and make the finish less than stellar and leave a sort of salty garlic, citrus, pineapple aftertaste. Light to medium palate, creamy, slick feel and moderate, slightly sharp carbonaiton. Off dry finish. Good stuff, but the weird hoppy notes got to me after a while.

12oz bottle: Pours a clear bright golden with a clingy-lacing white head. Has a fresh resiny hop nose with some mild light malty sweetness. Starts with good fullness and light carbonation revealing a subtle sweetness and lots of citrusy hop flavor and bitter balance before a drier bittersweet finish. Has lots of tasty hop character throughout.
