Schlafly Tasmanian IPA is brewed with 100% Australian hops. The Tasmanian hop, Galaxy, is a strong, aromatic variety that is different from traditional strains of the Pacific Northwest. Our brewers developed a recipe that showcases the hopís unique flavors of citrus and pineapple.

12 oz bottled almost 4 months ago, purchased at Hy-Vee Muscatine and poured into a pint glass at home. Orange and cloudy appearance with a rocky, lasting white head, thick lacing. Fresh, pleasant aroma of citrus zest, tropical fruits, floral notes and light herbs. Flavor is medium plus bitterness, resinous, fruity hops, mildly sweet, toasty malts and light spice. Medium body, crisp and kind of dry with a lingering resinous finish. Pretty smooth and refreshing. Enjoyed side by side with their American IPA (3.6)

Color is perhaps the lightest Iíve ever seen in an IPA. If not for the cloudiness and the head, you might think like is a macro lager! The aroma is kind of funky. Kinda off putting, actually. However, that funkiness isnít in the flavor. There is a fruitiness to it, but not quite like the citrus flavors from most hops. Mellow for an IPA, but I like it. Sneaky ABV at 7.2% Gotta love the uniqueness. Bonus points just for that!

bottle - Pours golden with a small, lasting head and good lacing. It has a good citrus aroma. This is a tasty brew with crisp bitterness, a medium body, citrus character, and a pleasant, bitter finish. Very well done.

The Galaxy hops from Tasmania make this beer reminiscent of pink grapefruit. Nice crisp acidity up front with a nice clean finish. Perfect beer to drink with lighter foods even with its higher alcohol.

UPDATED: SEP 20, 2015 On draft. Huge, huge pineapple juice aroma. Thin yellow color. Flavors of sweet pineapple throughout. Nothing subtle about anything here. Just pineapple and more pineapple. Update: 9/15: Still pineapple, just milder with a bit more biscuit.

Really wanted to like this one. As an avid IPA drinker, I was told at a local store to try this. The clerk told me to try Tasmanian IPA instead of one of my favorites that was out of stock (Three Floyd's Zombie Dust). Excited to try this, it was actually a huge disappointment for me. I was told the flavor was very similar to Zombie Dust. I've had Zombie Dust plenty of times being that I am from Indiana and this does not taste anywhere near as good as Zombie Dust (not does it resemble Zombie Dust that much...it barely does). The flavor wasn't even that similar. Glad other people enjoyed this beer but for me, it just wasn't an IPA that I liked at all. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

From a bottle. Pours opaque orange gold with a bubbly frothy white head. Tastes like sweet orange, lavender, light dry spice and resin. Very nice flavor. Slightly grassy, waxy, and boozy. Light body and low carbonation. Smells like sweet, creamy orange cookie.

Bottle. Pours hazy golden orange with creamy white head. Aroma is cookie and biscuit malts, floral and grassy notes, light candy sugar, faint caramel, faint spice, and faint lemon zest. Flavor is dry malt base with rich floral, grassy and pine hops, light toast, grapefruit esters, and light orange peel; dry finish with some lingering bitterness. Medium body and carbonation.
