COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Schlafly Tasmanian IPA is brewed with 100% Australian hops. The Tasmanian hop, Galaxy, is a strong, aromatic variety that is different from traditional strains of the Pacific Northwest. Our brewers developed a recipe that showcases the hop’s unique flavors of citrus and pineapple.

Pours a slightly hazy pale golden with a pretty decent rocky white head. Aroma is sweet pink grapefruit. Flavor is sweet pale malt, a breadiness and once again pink grapefruit. Theres a little pine in there as well. A mild hoppiness overall. Assertive, but smooth and not over the top. Very good.

Bottle. Clear light golden body. Frothy, white head, slowly diminishing. Aroma of fresh hop leaf, citrus, grapefruit rind, toasted grain, pineapple. The flavor is moderately sweet and lightly to moderately bitter. It finishes lightly sweet and moderately bitter. Medium body, velvety texture and lively carbonation. The beer is crisp in the mouth with clean malts and a taste of citrus. Plenty of raw hop leaf flavor (and some resin taste). But at least that isn’t combined with husky grain.

12 oz bottle purchased at Lukas in Kansas City, Missouri. Bottled with love on 10 08 12. The pour is a lightly hazed soft golden, with a nicely formed one inch white head. The aroma is dank catty, along with bright citrus tropical fruits and a nice toasted malt background. Fresh and alive nose. The taste is pineapple, tropical fruit upfront, followed by the dank, lightly herbal hop character. There is a bit of toasted malt here, but it is certainly in the back seat behind the hops. The palate is light to medium bodied, crisp carbonation and a dry clean finish. Really drinkable, surprised to see this was 7.2 abv, didn’t feel that big at all. Enjoyed this one.

Aroma of citrus, peaches and pineapple (of course) with a minor showing of sweet malts. Appearance was tinted gold with white head. Flavor matched the nose; very juicy and fresh. Palate was bubbly. Quite good.

Pours bright yellow with white head. The aroma is musty citrus and pale malts. The taste is very nice, south grains under the galaxy hops which provide a floral earthy pineapple tangerine up front and a dry citrus earthy dried herbal tinge on the back side. The crisp bright up front flavor washes out into a dry finish which isn’t as palatable. Pleasant brew overall, really good single hop ipa.

UPDATED: DEC 5, 2012 Macroswill like in appearance and was overwhelmed by adjunct/rye with this one. It was also quite dry. Not a fan at all. EDIT: My server may have given me a different beer so take this review with a large grain of salt.

Pours a beautiful golden color with a two finger fluffy white head and crystal clear, the aroma is all tropical fruits and mostly pineapple coming through just a awesome floral aroma. Up front the taste matches the nose im picking up pineapple and some grapfruit for 7.2 abv it is very smooth i can detect no alcohol whatsoever. Overall this is one hell of an ipa, schlafly can put out some really good stuff when they want to. Seek this out you wont be dissapointed

This IPA is so fucking gold it’s awesome. Seriously, so light at 7.2%. smaller white head. Aroma of onions, tropical fruit, and plenty of pine. Just a touch of dank. Almost zero malt profile going on here, which I really like. The onion is a little too much for me, but it isn’t as noticeable the more drink. Bitter finish, great carbonation.

Pours golden with a white head. Aroma is citrusy catty hop. Flavor is big citrus fruit, a good bit of earthy hop bitterness, and enough malt to keep it from being an unbalanced hop bomb.
