Schlafly Tasmanian IPA is brewed with 100% Australian hops. The Tasmanian hop, Galaxy, is a strong, aromatic variety that is different from traditional strains of the Pacific Northwest. Our brewers developed a recipe that showcases the hopís unique flavors of citrus and pineapple.

Hazy mustard pour with fair white head. Wow! what a nose! Sweet and fruity mango nose and flavor. Big pineapple and mango kick. Really awesome. The bitterness was a bit over the top on the finish, and ruined the balance that it had. But this is a damn good ipa! Iíd put it on the level of hopslam or nugget nectar.

Big thanks to Mike and Abbie for this one! One of my favorite new IPAs from last year for sure. Bright glowing orange pour, so vibrant and lustrous and inviting. Huge tropical fruit nose, but nothing artificial about it - just clean and ripe. Bitters and modest malts in the taste, superbly refreshing and balanced and complex. Loved it.

Consumed on release in Kansas, Packaging is perfect on this one - everything about this is citrusy tropical juice from pour to tongue. Very juicy with moderate complexity and slight bitterness (for an ipa), really good without being complex

Reviewed 3/1/13. 12 oz bottle into a nonic pint glass. A: Pours a hazy straw color. The head is a two finger white shade with a nice, creamy texture. As per usual in the style, it leaves rings of lacing as it recedes down the glass. S: I really like the tropical fruit bend this one offers. Augmenting the fruitiness is some herbal pine characteristics. Sadly, itís nowhere near as showstopping as it could be (or probably was; the bottleís over 2 months old), largely due to a lot of biscuity malt shining through. T: A lot of melon, mango, papaya, and guava appears at first, before spiking in intensity at the midtaste. The finish introduces a moderately bitter, peppery bite thatís almost minty at times. For a two month old IPA featuring a feeble malt backbone, this is downright fantastic. M: Light and crisp, yet with a surprising level of creaminess to meld with the smooth yet firm carbonation. The flavors leave the palate quickly as they should in an IPA of this nature. Almost supremely refreshing; if the finishing astringency was cleaned up a smidge, Iíd reckon the score here would be even higher. O: The apex of this offeringís hop profile may have been lost - but the thirst-quenching, easy drinking demeanor definitely hasnít. Iíd seriously consider buying this by the case when itís fresh and in season.

Bottle from Matt McCue, thanks brother. Pours a clear pale straw color with nice head. nose is citrus, earthy and biscuity, first sip is beautiful, bright citrus cumquat, meyer lemon and lime, balanced quickly with perfect sweet malt. finish is clean with citrue peal flavors that linger. my kind of beer.

bottle. The pour is very light, almost like a light beer. The aroma is a decent amount of hops but none like I have smelled before. Almost has an earthy tone with some spice. The taste is intense. The earth tone sticks in the taste as well. Huge point for being so unique, but doesnít do that with giving up taste.

Bottle. Pours hazy light gold. Nose is lemony, citrus, spritzy. Taste is light citrus hops with a zesty, almost lemony flavor. Highly carbonated and just a bit upfront alcohol. Slightly sticky body. Solid if not a bit different style IPA.

Fantastic floral hoppy aroma. Hazy yellow in color. Nice citrus overtones with classic IPA bitterness on the end. One of my new favorites

12oz bottle. This is interesting. Everything about the appearance of this beer screams pilsner. Certainly the lightest IPA I have seen. Nose is a little subdued with mainly citrus and hops. Taste follows the nose and really has a nice punch to it with a fairly hefty mouthfeel. This beer is an optical illusion. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. Floral pink grapefruit, pineapple, mango, and honey malt aroma. Hazy golden straw color with a large white head. Grapefruit, pineapple, and light earthy pine flavor. Medium body, soft carbonation, light astringent finish. The aroma is just incredible on this one. Schlafly has always been hit or miss for me, so this one was a really pleasant surprise.
