12 ounce bottle. Pours a bright orange color with a large white head. A big citrus nose, tropical, some biscuit. Rich orange tea, soft citrus, fluffy, biscuit sweet malts. Galaxy hops showcased so well here. Kinda funky. Very good.

Great show case of Galaxy hops. Great passion fruit and pineapple hop derived fruitiness. Yum! Some galaxy hopped IPAs have a slight grassy background taste but Schlafly TIPA pulled off the use of Australian hops very tastefully. So sad it is not a ear round offering.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Bottle (and a low fill line!) [bottled on 09/11/2015 -- wow, this tastes much, much fresher]. Nose is heavy rind and citrus juice, touch pineapple an tropical fruit, pine. Pours brilliant orange-golden with a dense cream head, thin lace. Taste dry with a little residual hop sweetness, starting to really crank the authentic pineapple toward the finish; bitterness is high, light tang to match the fruitiness, fullish body is crisp and snappy. Touch resin and mineral in the finish, very faint vegetal, just enough for character, and more lemon and faint tangerine. Fresh pine, some grapefruit (itís mostly generic ícitrus,í even if it does play well against the distinct pineapple). Clean with controlled alcohol, no heat. Just enough grainy pils-type malt underneath to balance somewhat, but on the whole, if you said this were 11oz of fruit juice with an ounce of beer added, I think most people would believe you. A real showcase for this hop. Impressive! [2015.11.29: 4.3]

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pours a slightly hazy, pale golden yellow color with straw colored hues and a one finger, frothy white head that slowly settles into a thin, lasting ring. Pretty good retention with spotty lacing coating the glass on the way down.
Earthy, floral aroma with lots of oily hops and pine needle countered by subtle citrus fruit sweetness and a pale malt backbone. Dank and resinous with fresh buds, grass and pine sap followed by faint hints of grapefruit, pineapple and orange peel. Some biscuit-y malts in there as well with hints of bread and light fruit. The hops are fresh and juicy but since they primarily use Galaxy/Austrailan hops, I was expecting more of tropical/citrus presence in the nose.
Medium body with tight carbonation and a blast of dry, earthy bitterness that lingers over the sweeter notes and pale malt backbone into a bone dry finish. A bit sweeter than the nose suggests but the flavor is dominated by sticky, piney hops. Very dry with lots of resinous hop oils, grassy pine needle, spruce tip and dank nuggets. This is followed by a subtle summit/onion flavor and a bit of juicy tropical fruit sweetness. Hints of grapefruit, pineapple and lemon peel cut through the bitterness but it could use a lot more to balance things out. Underneath, thereís a subtle pale malt backbone that provides hints if bread, biscuit and some sweeter light fruit flavors, especially apple. The mouthfeel falls off a bit toward the end of the palate, finishing slightly watery. The ABV is nicely masked making this beer pretty easy to drink but the hop flavors are slightly one dimensional. Thereís not enough sweetness for my preference and the summit/onion flavor comes on very strong toward the back end with an unpleasant lingering aftertaste.

Drank this out of a twelve ounce bottle, thank you Danny! Has a very hoppy aroma. Has a good flavor for an IPA but the hop profile has a bit of a spice to it.

Breaking my anti-Schlaf to try their top rated IPA.Sorry bro. Bottle from Cork in Rockford. Yellow golden pour almost no head. Aroma has heavy citrus, fruits, and light pine; a bit raw. Taste is of citrus, other fruits, chewy resin, light pine. Medium bodied, very dry hopped. Finishes more bitter than sweet. Solid effort. 13.8

Iíve tried a couple of other Aussie Galaxy-hopped beers previously, and they didnít blow me away, but they were good. This one has that unique Aussie Galaxy hops flavor with maltiness thatís sort of similar to English IPAs. Itís very good, though the ABV is just a tiny, tiny bit too obvious for me. Glad I tried it....another Schlafly beer that doesnít suck, good job guys.
