Schlafly Tasmanian IPA is brewed with 100% Australian hops. The Tasmanian hop, Galaxy, is a strong, aromatic variety that is different from traditional strains of the Pacific Northwest. Our brewers developed a recipe that showcases the hopís unique flavors of citrus and pineapple.

bottled 11/29/12 poured into a founders snifter/tulip. this beer starts out with this wild hop aroma that is very addicting. the fact that this is basically a smash beer helps to fully get everything out of the galaxy hops. the galaxy is to me what i can imagine is citras wild south pacific cousin. similar profile with a more aggressive wild hop aromas, theres lots of citrus and hits of grapefruit with a slight grassiness that doesnt take anything away from it. the appearance is a of a very clear light gold from the use of just 2-row with a nice frothy head. the taste is undeniable with it coping the aroma the whole way even down to the slight grassiness. the palate is spot on with a light enough body and excellent carbonation. overall this is a steal, if it was a couple bucks cheaper and year round it would score top honors across the board.

Aroma is tropical fruit, citrus and hop resin. The flavor is tropical fruit, kiwi/lime, hop resin and a mix of tartness and heavy bitterness in the finish.

Poured from a 12 ounce bottle thanks to tripelhops. Thanks! Pours a pale copper with a large, creamy white head of foam. The aroma comes bursting out of the bottle with notes of mango, cantaloupe, pineapple. Effervescent. The aroma is very fruity and bready. The tropical fruit sweetness in this beer is awesome. Medium body and lighter mouthfeel. Wonderful beer. Glad I got to try it.

Hazed, dark yellow-gold with a short, white head. Scent is strong pine, citrus peel. Taste is BIG...tart grapefruit....tropicals... A syrupy sweet blast that trails off to a simmering bitter. This is a great tasting IPA....like a good boat-drink with hops. Very Niiiice!

Ar: Ripe peaches, orange, and mango - some lemon. Ap: Golden and slightly hazy - large white head with very good retention and a delicate cratered cap of foam. T: Mango and pineapple up front, juicy and fresh - tropical fruit lingers and mixes with a bright and light malty quality - bitterness creeps up, but is quite firm with a bit of tannin - finish is dry with citrus rind. P: Medium-light body with high carbonation - finish is very crisp and dry. O: This is a fantastic IPA - the hop flavors and aromas are really unique and the beer is extremely quaffable and refreshing.

12 oz bottle. This is the first beer Iíve rated in years and the best new IPA Iíve had since Alpha King which is why I felt compelled to rate this. Light carbonation, the color is identical to the outer portion of the label. The aroma is heavy pine cone and citrus with just a hint of cigar. The citrus smacks you and then the resin of the hops hits your tongue and gets more bitter as it lingers. Breathing this in while drinking from a challis is a wonderful experience. This is only available from Oct-Jan and hopefully this will become a year around beer. Excellent IPA.

Having gotten wind of this beer I decided to give it a try at the grand opening of a new bar. While the price may have been a little steep it was in line with everything else that night. This is a excellent IPA that stands out from the pretenders because of its different hops. I hope other brewers continue to experiment with new strains.

Aroma / Appearance - The golden transparent base shimmers like translucent gold. Grassy hops, lemons, and citrus linger in the air like fireflies at dusk. Feeling light and airy it brings to mind open fields.

Flavor / Palate - The fluid mouthfeel is well balanced. Lemons, wheat, and white pepper tickle the palate. A warm finish betrays a slightly high ABV. Overall though it does a good job of striking a balance between the old (malts) and the new (the hops).

Location/Date:Bottle on November 25th, 2012.

Appearance: Pours a nice orange somewhat clear.
Aroma: Aroma of heavy pine and citrus.
Taste: Medium bitterness, pine, orange..
Palate:Medium light body, lingering aftertaste..

Summary: I had a bottle of this last weekend but hadnít rated. I even gave a bottle each to Bryan and Dave(after splitting one with Ben) though I wish I had more. Really delicious IPA. Also, very appropriate to have this for my 100th IPA rating!

Draft at Two Stones... Nice pour into a tulip glass. Bright orange in color, big head. Smells nice..... tropical fruits, mango, little peachy.... Taste is fruity... Lots of tropical fruits, grapefruit, mango, light peachy notes. Hoppy but not really bitter. Body is on the light side, easy to drink. Overall: Solid IPA
