COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Schlafly Tasmanian IPA is brewed with 100% Australian hops. The Tasmanian hop, Galaxy, is a strong, aromatic variety that is different from traditional strains of the Pacific Northwest. Our brewers developed a recipe that showcases the hopís unique flavors of citrus and pineapple.

Reviewed 3/1/13. 12 oz bottle into a nonic pint glass. A: Pours a hazy straw color. The head is a two finger white shade with a nice, creamy texture. As per usual in the style, it leaves rings of lacing as it recedes down the glass. S: I really like the tropical fruit bend this one offers. Augmenting the fruitiness is some herbal pine characteristics. Sadly, itís nowhere near as showstopping as it could be (or probably was; the bottleís over 2 months old), largely due to a lot of biscuity malt shining through. T: A lot of melon, mango, papaya, and guava appears at first, before spiking in intensity at the midtaste. The finish introduces a moderately bitter, peppery bite thatís almost minty at times. For a two month old IPA featuring a feeble malt backbone, this is downright fantastic. M: Light and crisp, yet with a surprising level of creaminess to meld with the smooth yet firm carbonation. The flavors leave the palate quickly as they should in an IPA of this nature. Almost supremely refreshing; if the finishing astringency was cleaned up a smidge, Iíd reckon the score here would be even higher. O: The apex of this offeringís hop profile may have been lost - but the thirst-quenching, easy drinking demeanor definitely hasnít. Iíd seriously consider buying this by the case when itís fresh and in season.

12 Fl. Oz. Pours cloudy, golden with a nice white head that left an even lacing on the glass. Aroma is hoppy, citrusy combined with some malts. Taste is consistent, great citrus flavors with a nice, sweet malty backbone. Overall quite enjoyable.

light golden color slightly darker than a pilsner. Aroma is of orange peel, grapefruit peel on the nose. No lacing, very little head. Taste is straight forward light citrus, more citrusy and on the middle and back some grapefruit/orange peel. Tastes like 60 IBUís. Galaxy hops also ad a slight funky aftertaste that is not unpleasant. This is a solid IPA to be sure, but is not a hop bomb, and is not extremely juicy. Itís somewhere in between. I was expecting more actually.

12 oz Bottle. Tasted on 12/8/14. Bottle from Gomer's in Kansas City. Pours to a light golden or straw color with a medium white head. Aroma was strong with citrus, grapefruit & some stone fruit. The taste was great with a ton of hops on the front end followed by a lot of citrus notes coming though. Overall as really great IPA. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Really great piney nose. Hops are more citrus floral without being really bitter. Drinks smooth, finishes nice. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Tap @ Commercial Taphouse. Yellow with big white head and good lacing. Piney, grapefruity, boxwoody around with just a hint of dankness. Nice bitter flavor. Dry, not heavy, nice bitter finish.

Draft at the brew house in St. Louis. Golden clear with white sticky head. Sweet vanilla aroma I think - this bar smells like shit so it's hard to tell. Piney and citrus. Delicious.

The Sampler, Brooklyn bottle ($2.75): Pours golden orange with a white head. Aroma is a LOT of citrus. I suppose that there is also pineapple in retrospect, but citrus is really overpowering. It is really pure in its form, I would add. So clean. Taste is exactly what I expected from the aroma. Fruitiness. Medium bitterness. Nice aftertaste. Quite good.
