dear...lord...The hop aroma startled me not just in itís pungency or potency, but also in the fact that it reminded me of sweat. And I thought to myself "this is the only time i will say that sweat smells good, someone should bottle this stuff" bear in mind that i thought that while sniffing out of a bottle...Kevin, the beer guy at my local beer store poured me a taste of this in store and wow...it smells like grapefruit and oranges, and lemon and sweat all rolled in one! It tasted like that too, but to a slightly lesser degree. I had to buy the six-pack, and i did. and it was awesome. you should too if you get a chance.

I missed this beer all year. When you open the bottle you just get blasted with a beer that smells like citrusy fruit juice. Take a sip, and you get a creamy, citrusy hop ride. Pour it into a glass, and you get a very sharp citrus/alcohol aroma, and the mouthfeel is an aggressively hoppy ipa with enough body to make it linger.
Off draft it tastes like pine trees, and gets a 4.9 lol.
But this was out of a bottle on 10-13-13 into a DFH IPA glass, and it was bottled on 10-1-13.

12 oz bottle. This is the first beer Iíve rated in years and the best new IPA Iíve had since Alpha King which is why I felt compelled to rate this. Light carbonation, the color is identical to the outer portion of the label. The aroma is heavy pine cone and citrus with just a hint of cigar. The citrus smacks you and then the resin of the hops hits your tongue and gets more bitter as it lingers. Breathing this in while drinking from a challis is a wonderful experience. This is only available from Oct-Jan and hopefully this will become a year around beer. Excellent IPA.

Pours a light golden color with a bright citrus aroma. Quite smooth with an adequate amount of carbonation. Drinks smooth with a slightly bitter aftertaste. A wonderful change of pace when looking for a different IPA beer.

Pours pale straw yellow with a large white head Smells of citrus and pineapple. Taste is fruity, a little bitter, and a little fruity again. Medium-bodied with a smooth texture and supple mouth-carbonation, Schlafly Tasmanian IPA finishes with a smooth sweetness.

12 oz bottle pour. Nice head just under 1/2 inch, laces down the glass as it drinks. Really nice aroma, very citrussy. Iím getting the pineapples as well. Light color. Mouth is happy. Mild bitterness with some grapefruitish flavors and nice light spice. Really nice beer.

UPDATED: DEC 26, 2012 Simply one of the best IPAís Iíve had the pleasure to partake of. Awesome on the nose with citrus very evident. My kind of IPA and by that I mean it smells awesome, tastes awesome and finishes the same. Dry, bitter and not very sweet - hops with just enough malt to give it a balance. Pours clear, deep gold with moderate white head. A great addition to the Schlafly lineup!

bottled 11/29/12 poured into a founders snifter/tulip. this beer starts out with this wild hop aroma that is very addicting. the fact that this is basically a smash beer helps to fully get everything out of the galaxy hops. the galaxy is to me what i can imagine is citras wild south pacific cousin. similar profile with a more aggressive wild hop aromas, theres lots of citrus and hits of grapefruit with a slight grassiness that doesnt take anything away from it. the appearance is a of a very clear light gold from the use of just 2-row with a nice frothy head. the taste is undeniable with it coping the aroma the whole way even down to the slight grassiness. the palate is spot on with a light enough body and excellent carbonation. overall this is a steal, if it was a couple bucks cheaper and year round it would score top honors across the board.

Tap at Birreria Paradiso Georgetown. Hazy orange-tan with a creamy off-white head. Awesome unique funky island tropical insanity aroma. Perhaps the most all out Starburst tropical IPA Iíve ever had. Delightful golden malt body, never too thick doing anything other than creating a steady backbone for the intense hops to shine. Sort of blows a great beer like Zombie Dust out of the water. True hop dream. Lemon-lime, peach, interesting pungent twang, and no sugary overtones. Phenomenal! Light noble peppery notes meets tropical bliss.
