COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Schlafly Tripel has patiently awaited joining the ranks of our bottle-conditioned Belgian-style ale series. It was the first festival ale for our HOP in the City beer festival which makes it dear to us. Tripel is hearty with a golden hue and a rich, fruity character. While this ale is light in color, it is fuller bodied than many darker ales. The characteristics make it a great after-dinner drink and a perfect complement to aged cheeses and fruity desserts. We age this ale for months before it touches a bottle, but, if you have the will power, it will improve for years to come.

Bottle thanks to bu11zeye. Pours with a hazed golden body with a fluffy, small white head residing over it. Aroma of bread, honey, pear, candied walnuts, must, alcohol, bananas faster and vanilla. Taste is hot with caramel, coriander, honey, pear and more alcohol. Creamy mouthfeel, light bubbles.

750ml bottle served in a Duvel tulip. Bottle conditioned. Pours gold with a thin white head that dissipates fairly quickly. It does have an effervescent carbonation. Lots of Belgian yeast aroma, more banana than clove. Also some alcohol and sugar. Medium bodied. Spicy flavor with some candi sugar. Nice spicy finish. Some warming alcohol. Very drinkable.

on tap at schlafly’s tap room in st. louis. hazy gold color, fluffy white head, nice lacing. whiff of banana in the nose. spicy sweet flavor with undertones of banana. the banana flavor detracts a bit from the spice and belgian yeast, which subtracts a point or two from my rating.

Very nice banana aroma. Lots of banana and sweet in the first taste. Lots of yeast. I can taste that 9 percent. Very cool. Enjoyable Tripel. Nice to see Schlafly doing bottle conditioned.

growler from the tap room. this american triple pours very clean with a brilliant golden honey color. Minimal white head forms on top of the brew before fading without a trace. intensely fruity nose smells like candied citrus fruit and flower. soapy hops round out the finish. this is a better than average example of a an american microbrew triple.

Another great brew by Schlafly. The bartender said that the ABV was approx. 10% and I can believe it. One of these delicious beers gave me half of a buzz.

Had a golden color with an off white head. Had a spicy aroma with some malt. Had some creamy banana palate with a fair share of carbonation. The alcohol can be felt in the warm finish.

Tasted at St. Louis BrewFest, May 12, 2007. Very nice Belgian ale from Schlafly, with some interesting spiciness and a nice mouthfeel. Good.

On tap at the tap room. Aroma is loaded with banana, major banana with a few spicy notes. Reminds me of a strong wiess so far. Very cloudy golden yellow with a thin head. Sweet banana-malt flavor with a touch of clove and other spices. Warming, alcoholic finish. A little too simple to be a good tripel. Medium-full body with a sweet and creamy texture. Trade some of that banana flavor for more complex Belgian yeast flavors and make the finish a little drier and this would be much better.

On Tap at Schlafly’s Tap Room . Pours clear gold with a small / moderate sized white head. The aroma is cloying thick candied malt with essence of banana. Medium body with only a little bit of carbonation. The flavor starts with syrupy malt that is quite sweet and also has the bananas from the aroma. The finish has a sharp bunch - spice, sour and fizz. There is also some nectar fruit that lingers around a bit. The finish also has a bit of harshness to it. This is an okay beer, but not close to tripel standards. Never a favorite from the brewery.
