COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Schlafly Tripel has patiently awaited joining the ranks of our bottle-conditioned Belgian-style ale series. It was the first festival ale for our HOP in the City beer festival which makes it dear to us. Tripel is hearty with a golden hue and a rich, fruity character. While this ale is light in color, it is fuller bodied than many darker ales. The characteristics make it a great after-dinner drink and a perfect complement to aged cheeses and fruity desserts. We age this ale for months before it touches a bottle, but, if you have the will power, it will improve for years to come.

Aroma is yeast, citrus, spices and slightly musty/dank. The flavor is citrus, spices, fruit/berries, thick body and a sourish/tangy finish.

No bottling information, yellow cap.
Appearance: The body is cloudy with pale straw edges that get darker through the center into a an ugly orange brown. The head is tall and dense, but fluffy, with good retention. It settles into a creamy white coating.
Aroma: The aroma is a fruity medley with hints of lemon, banana, and strawberry. Hints of alcohol are apparent with a mild floral dryness. The aroma leans sweet though.
Taste: This is pretty intense for a tripel, but in a good way. The intro is dry with hints of floral and lemon, but it becomes a very strong malty beer with overlying banana and strawberry. Alcohol is present by the finish along with light black pepper and clove. The finish lingers of sweet a banana and a lingering alcohol. This drinks nice.
Palate: Full bodied, nearing thick, with high carbonation.
Overall: I think this is a good beer. It’s not very traditional, but it’s enjoyable, despite the alcohol presence.

750 mL bottle from Beer Run, with a bit of age on it. Pours a hazy golden color with a thin white head. Decent head retention. Aroma of spice, caramel, bread, stone fruits, apples. The taste is bread, toast, caramel, spice, apples, mild hops and booze. Medium bodied, lingering spice.

The appearance of this beer is a gorgeous amber color with a large white head with very little retention, and the aroma is very strong in intensity yet light in body with its scents of figs, sour oranges, and caramel malts. The taste is mildly sweet, sightly sour, and a touch umami, and the mouthfeel combines a full body, slick texture, average carbonation, and a long finish.

Bottle from Riverside wine. Pours golden with a half inch of white foam. Big yeast notes on the nose. Kind bready and yeasty on the tongue. A fair amount of the alcohol is present as well. Finishes eventually. Solid for style.

Hazy golden coloured body with a thinnish off-white head and some movement in the bottom of the glass. Aroma of yeast, wheat, honey, flowers and a bit of pungent banana sweetness. Medium to Full-bodied; Strong hay and wheat flavours at first with a lot of honey and some strong yet deep banana and coriander seed flavours on top of some wheat. Aftertaste shows well with the yeast and sweetness dominating and a touch of the drying characteristics noticeable. Overall, a good beer - definitely nice to try and a perfect beer to share, especially for the price! I sampled this 75 cL bottle purchased from Giant in Manassas, Virginia for US$5.99 sampled on 12-July-2011.

Bottle: Poured a hazy golden color ale with a large pure white foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma consists of sweet Belgian-style malt with some spicy yeasty notes and quite a bit of residual sugar. Taste is also a mix between some Belgian-style malt notes with light candy ester and quite a bit of residual sugar with a light peppery yeast finish. Body is quite full with good carbonation and no apparent alcohol. Enjoyable thought a bit too much residual sugar for my liking.
