3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 Trev (1424) - Lakeville, USA - NOV 7, 2009
cloudy orange gold pour with a quick small white head.
Aroma is fruity, apple and some tropical fruit and light bubblegummy tones. Some acidic tartness in the flavour. Apple and even light pineapple tones. Some honey and clove as well.
Alc is well blended though noticable after the finish, and it’s a very drinkable tripel.

Roasty, high alcohol, minimal thin white head, oak flavor. Floral. Solid beer...would be good in cask.

Bottle:   Bright straw originally, hazy, but near the bottom the bottle it becomes a bit dirtier with the sediment.   Ends up looking like an unfiltered American Hefe.   Huge frothy off-white head, very sticky lacing, strong carbonation.   Has a strong fruity grape juice sort of aroma, slight floral, fairly sweet.   Its like pineapple and grape juice, plus a little bit of alcohol.   Interesting.   Fruity on the tongue, both white and regular grape juice, a little tropical, fairly sweet, a bit yeasty.   Not too heavy, which is nice given its sweetness.   Finish has a lot of linger white grape juice.   Seems a little bizarre.   Not as mealy/sticky as most Americans, but also not as floral.   Entertaining at least, and very different.

Pours a hazy golden orange color with a 1.5 finger frothy white head that slowly settles into a thin lasting ring. Spotty lacing left behind.
Slightly earthy, spicy aroma with lots of estery fruit notes. Subtle barnyard earthiness with grass and hay hints along with peppery spice, especially corriander. Decent malt presence along with sweet booze and light fruit.
Medium bodied but on the fuller end with lots of tight carbonation up front. Slightly earthy with subtle grassy hops which compliment the dry spiciness. Peppery with some coriander maybe grains of paradise. Very dominant overpowering the other notes and lingering into a boozy, dry finish. Decent malt backbone adds fullness to palate. As it warms sweeter fruit notes emerge with hints of orange peel, tangerine, apple and light berries. The Abv is decently masked with a decent amount of booze-heat in the finish but not too overpowering. Decent but way too heavy in the spices for my liking and not all that complex.

750ml bottle from Pick’s poured into my Chimay Trappist glass. Pours an almost clear, beautiful golden orange with a small bit of white head. Aroma of straw, banana and something sweet. Taste is medium sweet. Alcohol, some straw and banana. Medium bodied with a thick and creamy texture. Lively carbonation and a long finish. Overall, very good. Something I will definitely drink again.

Bottle thanks to a generous name who’s name escaped me. Pours a hazy gold with a white head that dissipates slowly to the edges. Aroma is quite sweet with sweet grains and fruits as well as a hint of a floral note. Flavor is similarly sweet with sweet grains backed by light fruits and a bit of a floral note.
