Schnucks and Schlafly Beer invite you to try this third release in our Culinaria collaboration series, Weizenbock. This bold, unfiltered wheat beer is loaded with fruity and spicy character. Brewed with a large amount of Wheat malt, along with a good dose of Munich and caramel malts, this beer has a rich, dark brown appearance and a spicy flavor. The German Weizen yeast enhances the distinct profile of this beer, which gives it half its name; the other half is from its alcohol content, which is more similar to a Bock than a Dunkelweizen, its nearest cousin.

Draft. Hazy brown color, tan head. Aroma of lightly spiced caramel. Taste is creme brulee bubblegum with a bitter finish. Very nice.

Dark brown. Thick head. Slight cherry. Smells acidic. Doesn?t taste sour though. Tastes higher alcohol than it is. Heavy and thick.

Refrigerated 75 cl brown bottle poured into a weizen glass. Pours translucent medium brown with small off-white head. Pretty good small bubble lacing, medium body, medium carbonation, and chocolate malt aroma. Taste is chocolate malt, banana, some alcohol, and some clove. Pretty good overall, thanks seymour.

Bottle from Culinaria. Pours brown with a thin khaki head. Big yeast notes on the nose with some banana as well. There’s some maltiness on the tongue along with banana. It hides its 8 percent very well. Finishes clean. Good bee for a colder than expected night.

Tasted from a cool, capped magnum bottle from Schnucks into tulip. It poured a pretty, cloudy, brown color with lasting, fluffy foam and lots of lace. Very aromatic: brown bread, honey, caramel, bubble gum, banana, light perfumey combination of noble hops and alcohol. Flavor was pretty intense and complex too: husky whole-wheat bread, dark brown sugar, toast, dried plums, apricots, rich residual sweetness. Medium body and carbonation. Full, "chewy" mouthfeel, sticky like a doughnut or brandy soaked fruitcake. Lingering, multi-layered aftertaste. Delicious, get it while you can.

It poured a dark brown color with a light tan head. The aroma was roasted malt, with some spices and citrus. The taste was roasted malt, a hint of cinnamon and some pepper. A very good Weizen Bock.

750 ml bottle from Culinaria. Pours a hazy nut brown color with a small off-white film for a head. Aroma of nuts, wheat, toast, brown sugar, clove, and banana- rich and nutty all the way through. Flavor of nuts, toasted malts, brown sugar, bananas, clove, anise, and earthy notes. Medium-bodied, with a toasty mouthfeel and moderate carbonation. Solid weizenbock; glad I picked this up.

750ml bottle poured into a shaker. Pours a dark nut brown with minimal off-white head. Aroma of banana, caramel and clove. Taste is light sweet. Lots of banana and clove with a good bit of caramel malt in the aftertaste. Medium bodied with a somewhat sticky texture. Lively carbonation and a long finish. Overall, very good. I wish this was a year round beer because I would drink it all the time.
