COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Schlappeseppel Pils is a golden light beer of dry taste as it is not focused on a wide full-bodied malt taste but on the particular emphasis on the aromatic hop and bitter taste. These herbal and/or lemon flavours of the hops are perceived evoking the interplay between nose and palate.
Formerly was 4.8% ABV. Contains: water, barley malt, hops, hop extract. Brewed according to the Bavarian Purity Law from 1516.

UPDATED: JAN 21, 2016 Pours darkish gold with a creamy head. Trends towards being a bit astringent, with an oddly bitter and slightly metallic taste. Lacks the sweetish malty taste found in most German pilseners, which makes it interesting, but the hops is not aromatic enough to carry it. OK in a pinch.

Sample at Örebro Öl & Whisky 2015. Malty and fruity smell. Similar taste with pale bread and some herbs. Crisp and clean.

Yellow with a small white head. Aroma is cereal, bread, nice herbal and floral notes (grass, lavender, mint). Taste is bread, mint, cereal. Strange cardboard and astringent off flavours. Bitter grassy aftertaste, with some off flavours too...

Typical German pilsener. Clean aroma and taste, crisp, may be too much malty. Still drinkable and refreshing.

Piwo złote, przejrzyste. Piana średniopęcherzykowa, nietrwałam nie lepi szkła. W aromacie słody i trochę chmielu. W smaku dobry bilans słodów i goryczki. To faktycznie pils a nie international lager. Wytrawne, wysycenie wysokie. Dość miłe zaskoczenie.

Dorada limpia y brillante con buena espuma. Aroma malteado, ligeramente tostado y agradable. Refrescante en boca con carácter cereal de malta de calidad. Bien equilibrada con lupulo que le da final seco y amargo. Buena pilsen

From carrefour. Playing KB Dark Side. Good Pilsen, with much more body than the typical spanish ones and better taste, more equilibrium in bitterness

Maker: Eder & Heylands Brauerei, Grossostheim, Germany Beer: Schlappe Seppel Pils (bottled, 500ml) Style: German Pilsener ALC.VOL.: 5.1% "Schlappeseppel Pils is a golden light beer of dry taste as it is not focused on a wide full-bodied malt taste but on the particular emphasis on the aromatic hop and bitter taste. These herbal and/or lemon flavours of the hops are perceived evoking the interplay between nose and palate." [brewery note] Colour: Bright golden, clear, medium fluffy white head. Nose: Barley malt, no fruit. Texture: Medium body, not too fizzy, active carbonation. Taste: Moderately bitter start, white bread. Middle: faint bread notes, mild bitterness, still no fruit. Bitterness increases in the finish, without any actual hoppy notes, just barley. Medium long but weakly bitter aftertaste. Impressions: Why do I keep drinking stuff like this? [Yes, it’s readily available and inexpensive]. "Schlappe Seppel" is best known for its "Spezial" beer, which is a bit more quaffable, but only available in 330ml bottles.

Alles in allem Massenware.
