COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Schlappeseppel Special is brewed with special malts. These malts already contain caramelized sugar. About 60 % of the quality of this beer can be traced back to this harmonic flavour. The result is an amber-coloured, full-bodied, balanced beer.

Swing-Top Bottle 33cl. Pours a clear red-golden brew with small white big bubbled head. Smooth malty in the beginning, subtle dry hoppy nose in the finish. Overall nothing spectacular, broad pasteurized taste? A not must-have.

The bottle looks good, the beer in the glass not really. Starts mild, modest spicy, a bit stronger in the end, notes of wheat. Well balanced. Good beer.

UPDATED: FEB 3, 2010 Bottle. Grainy and honeyish aroma. Amber, fine bubbles, lacing off-white head. Bready entry, light fruit, spicy and herbal hoppy finish. Light sparkly mouthfeel, a slightly too light body in my oppinion, a bit more chewyness would have been good. Herbal retronasal.

[bottle] Nutty, lemony, and brown sugary with the citrus coming from fresh hops--even a bit sour. Light amber with a lacy white cover that is thin. Pleasant nut and citrus/lemony malt flavour that even has a little caramel, reminiscent of a british ale--even with some brown sugar. Some spicy melanoidins. Balance is slightly towards sweet, with a very gentle bitterness. Nuts really transcend the entire tasting experience and is sort of in counterpoint with the citrusy hops and brown sugar at various points. Really an interesting drink. Light to medium body with moderate carbonation and a slightly sweet and nutty finish.
