Hell und kräftig.
Due to its high amount of malt, Schlappeseppel bock beer possesses an increased intensity of all perceivable aromas. This gold coloured beer has a strong, full-bodied and complex taste resulting from the malt and hop aromas.

0.33 l bottle. Deep golden color. Sweet aroma with honey, pale bread and tart fruits. Sweet honeyish and tart fruity flavor with citrus and some alcohol. Medium to full body. OK quite typical heller bock.

Bottle. Light pale golden with a large creamy white head...what? Ah, ein Helles Bock. That explains it. :-P Aroma is pale malts, red berries and hints of marzipan. Taste is heavy marzipan tones, sweet pale malts, hints of red berries in the back. So strange. Full body, medium carbonation, slick palate. Strange, and more like a malt liquor or something in that direction than what I would normally associate with a bock, in any case. Not too shabby, though.

Bottle, courtesy of mowbeer and pivni rozmanitost. Rich golden with a white sliver of a head; aroma is sweet and syrupy with hints of tropical fruit; loads of muesli character in there - sultanas, dried pear, oat and even a yoghurt tang.

Bottle by 27.07.2012. Nose of heavy caramel with toffee, brown sugar, ripe grape and fruit. A clear golden body with an orange tinge, supporting a rocky eggshell head. Taste is semi-sweet with a good burst of initial bitterness, nice pale/pils malt with a caramel edge and really good Doppelbock/Quad fruit notes; lingers on dark toffee more than grape and there’s actually a nice, if slightly grungy, yeast contribution (not common from this mark, in my experience). Medium-full body. Enjoyed this one.

Bottle at the hotel in Berlin. Pours clear, light yellow with a fine, white foam head. Sweet and bready aroma. Very sweet flavor, heavy bread, sugar, light fruits, light alcohol. Full in body with light to average carbonation. Very faint warming finish, syrupy and doughy sugars, yeah more bread, too. A pretty one-dimensional strong bock, though thankfully the booze isn’t too invasive.
