2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
The aroma is pilsner-like, but relatively uninteresting. I gave the aroma four out of ten simply because it is inoffensive. The head is white and sudsy, though it dissipates quickly. The concoction itself is an unexciting yellow, akin to any Miller or Bud product, it appears anemic and tired. As a matter of fact, thatís exactly what it tastes like, though I must admit what taste I could detect seemed...well, clean. The beerís intense carbonization tortures the palate, the burn resonates for quite awhile. This is only to be endured, I mean, enjoyed for its nostalgic quality.

4.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Oh heavenly joy! Oh, wondrous rapture! Oh, lovely lager!!! This reformulated junk has cracked my top 5 beer list! For merriment, mirth & mayhem, one could do a lot worse than Shlitz! This stuff is da Bomb! The big Three (Blatz, Pabst & Schlitz) are poised for a remarkable comeback that will be spoken of in awed tones for centuries to come. Thatís right. Pabst brewing (which owns all three) is now THE LARGEST American-owned brewery. All they need is the right push and all the dominos will fall into place. Donít question it. Soon Blatz will take its rightful place at the top of the American brewing pyramid, and the others will follow.
I predict by 2012, Budweiser, Coors Miller and Sam Adams will be closing their doors, and the Pabst factory will be the biggest & most successful brewery in the world. How can they not, if they reintroduce such a bitchiní retro-white trash gem like this??
Iíve been to Milwaukee so I ought to know.

3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours clear gold with a persistent large white head. Aroma of grainy corn and cereal. Flavors of grainy corn, very dry, with a very slight bitterness in the finish. Slight carbonic bite and medium carbonation feel. I enjoyed it on tap at a country bar.

2.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Decent for what it is...not a great beer by any means, but very drinkable. Aroma of corn and straw, golden yellow appearance with med white head that fades fast, decent hop taste not bitter. One can tell they tried to make a decent beer and they did for a macro. Will drink again as long as it is cheap.

Not too bad. I never had the 70ís through early 2000ís version, so Iím not sure if this is much better. Drinkable for sure.

2.2 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Poors nicely. Lingering head over straw yellow body.
Has a mid-palate bitterness, that while fleeting, is noticeable. Bitterness is a vague rusty can taste (this was drank from a bottle). When poured into a glass, smooths out but still present.
Not the worst beer in the world, decent choice for after cutting grass ... Or as Last Drunken Beer of the Night. However, largely forgettable.

2.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
Itís like drinking a heritage turkey! In all seriousness, Iím glad they did this. It helps us return to our roots and have a beer memory as a nation.
Poured my 12oz bottle into a glass. just slightly darker than todayís pilsners. The smell reminds me of the old cans Iíd find in the parking lot of my youth... Tastes about how I imagined it would. The kiss of hops must be just a peck on the cheek. Still, miles ahead of the rest of the big three.

2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Was excited to see what all the hoopla was. Turns out, itís generic American lager. Boo-urns.
Smells like bread with some slight must, and something sweet I canít name. Tastes like beer, lol. It just... exists.
