Back in 1902, Schlitz was the biggest beer producer in the WORLD, largely because most of Chicagoís breweries were recently burned down in a citywide fire and Schlitz had quickly taken hold of the market by donating its stuff to the masses. Hey Mr. Stewart, this was the beer that made Milwaukee famous. "When youíre out of Schlitz," as their old marketing slogan goes, "youíre out of beer." I canít help but think thatís because Schlitz is the last stuff remaining in the fridge. Somehow this stuff tastes way better when consumed out of a tallboy can. The metal and ascetic tastes pair up nicely in a hipster sort of brewing irreverence. Aroma: old funky shoes. Appearance: N/A in a can. Taste: frito-lay-esque brewing synthetic chemicals. Palate: fizzy. Overall: Subpar but usually on special.

UPDATED: APR 1, 2013 Remember this one from the 70ís. Not a bad macro brew. Enjoy that Pabst Brewing is reviving some of the oldies.

A much better Budweiser. It isnít as sweet, goes down all nice-like, and overall enjoyable. Sometimes itís appropriate to put down the craft beer, I recommend this.

Malt liquor of choice. You think this is bad cold, try drinking it out of an oven at 350 degrees for your "initiation". Fun to get at the bar just to be ridiculous.

Hard to tell aroma and color as I am served this in a bottle. Some caramel and hop aroma, taste is sweet but hoppy. Short dry sweet aftertaste. (Houston 201208)

Tallboy at LIncoln Wine Bar. It actually hit the spot pretty nicely. Crisp and refreshing--I had two.

Can- Pours a golden color with a big head that fades to some lacing. Aroma of grain, and a bit of malt sweetness. Not a lot here. Taste of mild sweetness with some grain. A coarse bitterness and a fairly clean finish. Fairly medium body, some crispness with a gritty feel. Nice to come across an American Classic beer. Not bad for what it is and canít beat the price.

Can to pint (from notes). Looks fine; gold with white head and decent carbonation. Smells and tastes weak/mild, but unoffensive fore a macro lager. Mouthfeel is fine. Okay for what it is (and the price point).
