Just had my first schlitz at a bar called Irishís in Fond du Lac. They only had it in a can, but it tasted and smelled delicious like Blatz. I canít believe it took this long for me to try the beer that made Milwaukee famous.

12oz bottle (Old Notes)-Pours golden with a small white head. Aroma of corn, grains, and malt. Taste of grains and malt. This light bodied brew was the thing in the past.

Had a taste of this at the bar last night - someone was joking about craft beer connoisseur-ship. As I said then, papery taste of garbage with some piss. Yum.

Ever since they brought back the original recipe from the 1960ís I will drink it on occassion. Decent tasting beer. Not the best Iíve had but not the worst. Worth drinking.

I recall buying this since it was so cheap and Iím pretty sure I drank an entire 12pack once and just peed all night and felt bloated.

It is hard to be objective when rating this, because in college, it was the # 1 beer in America, and I agreed. Then the recipe changed, and that was it. Now it tries to make a comeback, but Iíve moved so far beyond the modest expectations of the original, that I donít know how to treat it. It was instrumental in getting me started, so it deserves at least a 2.2.
