330mL bottle, pours a clear light golden yellow with a small white head. Aroma of honeyed corn malts, grainy notes and straw. Flavour is sweet, with notes of bready, grainy, corn malt, straw and a hint of hops. Very light-bodied and unassuming, with an inoffensive flavour profile.

3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
33 cl bottle as Magalotti 1845 Doppio Malto, 7.1%. Dark yellow color, clear, unstable white head. Malts on the nose. Aroma has a nice amount of pale malts, very bready, sugar, candy orange, banana. Thin hop profile, alcohol can be noticed. Taste is initially sweet, then slightly bitter and finally sweet again. Tart mouthfeel, thick oily texture, dense, full bodied, soft carbonation. Finish is sticky and somewhat spiced. Heavy one, reminds me of some weizen-bocks.

330ml bottle pours a pale golden color with a small white head that leaves some decent lacing on the glass. Aroma is caramel and cereal grains. Taste is malty sweet with a grassy hop bitterness. Medium bodied with light carbonation. Not a very good bock at all and not recommended.

2.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
0.33l bottle. This is a crystal clear pale golden one with a medium sized light bubbly white head. It smells light sweet with some corn, also I get tones of fruity zesty melon and that’s just about that. Not extreme, not exciting, not bad either, just a bit dull. In the flavor this has some clear alcohol touches. Watery ans thin melon dominates, pale malty flavor and traces of corn and irony copper. No clear off flavors, but this is not one I will remember for a long time. 22.06.2012

25th October 2011
Bottle in Genoa purchased from Enoteca Squillari as ’Birra Magalotti 1845 Doppio Malto Bionda’. Clear gold beer, good white head. Light palate, a little dry. Sweet pale malt, almost sugary sweet. Creamy as well. Some buried marmaladey citrus prevents stepping over the line to ’sicklyville’. Dry finish. Not terrible!

Bottle in Italia as magalotti 1845. Light blonde to golden colour, small head. Sweety aroma and and a sweetish taste, a bit dry, with hone6y and almonds. A bit alcoholic but not that that bad.
