bhensonb (2769), Woodland, California, USA May 6, 2008 500 ml? bottle. LIghtly fruity, slightly bready aromas with some yeast or citrus backing. LIght amber color with a decent white head. Medium body with creamy carbonation. Flavor is crisp, malty, lightly fruity, and slightly hoppy. It’s a bit more complex than many Euro lagers. Quite fresh and tasty. Finishes with a mixture of herb and oak notes. This is really good beer. Hop tends to build in the mouth as sipping extends.
larsga (2123), Oslo, Norway May 17, 2008 Big coarse offwhite head does not last. Yellow body with carbonation. Malty grassy peppery hop aroma with notes of straw and rye. Sweet malty earthy grassy taste with oily notes and buttery traces. Very strong and clean taste. Harmonic. Full, almost oily mouthfeel. Faint alcoholic taste. Dry grassy herbal aftertaste with apple notes. Leaves sticky sugar on lips. Very nice. A clasy beer. (0.5l bottle at dahoam im bruderhof, Salzburg.) nuplastikk (394), Maryland, USA Apr 14, 2008 500ml bottle. Golden-yellow color, more or less transparent. The aroma is fresh and sweet. The taste is sweet and malty as well, displaying a lot of classic bock qualities, but with a stronger hop backbone than most Heller-Bocks. Big and rich, with a slightly pungent sweetness that melds quite well with the alcohol and yeasty flavors. A great beer. Braudog (3467), Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates Jan 3, 2008 Bottle: Bright golden with half of the volume being absorbed by a solid white foam top, yet it’s silently still. The aroma is super sweet and the mouthfeel is slippery and smooth. This has a musty bite with a starchy, airy bite, reminding me of some cheap American macrolagers like Old Milwaukee or something. Quite an odd impression for me to get, huh. I’d still love this with a big ol’ greasy bratwurst. (#3266, 1/3/2008)
