From the bottle poured a weak pee yellow liquid with a thin white head.. Subtle aromas and flavors of malt and hops, just the way I like my pilseners.

Light yellow with thin white head. Light floral aroma, a smidge of cooked corn- thin. A touch metallic, a tad sour, a little sweet, and some decent Pilsener hops. Light with a longer hop finish than expected. Not really my style but not too bad.

Pours a light yellow color with a big fluffy white head that quickly fades. Aroma is corn and grass, tastes of corn and rice with a slightly bitter vegetal finish.

330 ml green bottle with pull-tap bought at Fürstenberg in Tsuen Wan.

Clear pale dull golden yellow colour; Half finger head with soapy white foam which fades in 30 seconds; Small sticky lacing with quite fizzy carbonation; Slightly pungent aroma of lager malt, with floral nectar, honey, bread, yeast, lemon and light grassy hops; Light sweet taste of light lager malt, with molasses notes, very light earth, bread, light yeast, light lemon, light bitter hops and very light grass; Light body, dry and watery palate; Mouth feel is somewhere between a macro Pale and a light Pilsener, with fairly light body and thin palate (seems like a trait for most Austrian lagers). Saaz earthyness is light at best. Otherwise some notable bread and fairly lightweight hops. Doh!… Hoppiness is sweet floral nectar, lemon and light grass nose. Very light earth, thin lemon and light hop taste. Bitterness is very low-fi German Pils-like for a faint astringent non-finish; Quite dry after taste. Easy and quite bready to mouth.

Comments: This is typical Austrian brew - thin body but good maltyness, empty taste and light hoppiness. The fragrant floral aroma is its sole saving grace. For traditional German Pils lovers, once is definitely enough.

This pilsner is properly hoppy and very smooth. The malt is thin, and less grainy in flavor than Stigl. The spice of the Saaz comes out for the finish. It is drinkable and satisfying, but I find the Austrian pilsners generally inferior to the Czech brews.
