Biscuits and floral hops on the nose, some faint nutty tones. Clear, pale gold with a fairly lasting white head. Snappy, spicy bitterness up front that mellows into a clean, bready finish. A light and refreshing lager with a brilliant hop spice, lifted by lively carbonation, that stings the tongue. The finish is very clean and abrupt.

Bouteille 330ml.

Straw blond colour. Quite a crisp, clean taste. A bit grassy, quite a dry finish.

Reviewed 12/25/2012. 11.2 oz bottle into a pint glass. A: Pours a lighter straw color with fantastic clarity. The head is a one finger white color with okay retention. Basically, it’s everything you’d expect a decent pilsner to look like. S: I was really wary when I first popped open the weird pulltab and whiffed a MASSIVE amount of skunk, but in the glass it’s calmed down well. Lots of zesty noble hops with no real malt aroma. Weak in general, but not bad. T: There’s almost a green pepper flavor that really catches me off guard - yeah, it definitely tastes like bell pepper. Not really a good thing. There’s a bit of grass and sweet malts on the finish, but that off flavor really throws everything off guard. M: Well carbonated and nicely light - there’s no mouthfeel problems keeping it from going down easy, just the flavors. O: This...doesn’t work. The pepper character kills what could have been a good pilsner. At the very least, it would pair decently with Mexican food.

330ml bottle. Not too bad. Hoppy and fresh but quite a bitter after taste.

Bottle from the SAQ. Looks exactly like a cheaper champagne. EXACTLY. Smell is not great, some citrus and grass hops, but a definite skunkiness to it. Palate is light bodied and quite smooth, not a whole lot of carbonation. Taste is pretty good for a pilsner, slightly hoppy and quite crisp. Overall, would not recommend.

Bottle at Enoteca Sileno. Not very interesting. Aromas of hay and leaves. Taste is sweet, with light bitterness, and average length. Palate is oily, and medium bodied. Yellow, with a thin head.

pours clear light golden yellow, small head, ringed retention, micro CO2, some slow streams, cool pull tab a la Japanese energy drinks. Straightforward malts on the nose. Drinks with a semi-dry medium hopped bready maltiness up front, yeast, silky carbonation, metallic, somewhat watery, finishing clean, crisp and lightly hopped bitter. Low complexity, low-med depth, good transitions, average carry, decent drinkability. Average at best, nothing exciting.

330 ml bottle. Pours a very pale clear straw with a nice white head. Smells somewhat skunky, with some grains and hops. Taste is very sweet, wheat flour, yeast, bread, vanilla cake. Finish is light, very fine bitterness, herbal. Light to medium body, smooth, creamy mouthfeel. Average level of carbonation. Very good.

"Das feinherbe pils". .5l bottle served in a tall pilsner glass. Light Golden color with little visible carbonation in between sips but a flourish of bubbles with each tilt of the glass. The large white head is durable and coats the glass nicely. Near medium body and medium carbonation. Smooth. Not dry. O: [3.75] A straightforward and very clean pilsner. Although it has a mildly bitter balance, it goes really well with cheese which, for me, made it sometimes taste a bit sweet (?).
