2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottle. Hmm. Does not set itself apart in any way. Lively. Just tastes like somebody poured St. Pauli Girl and Mickey’s together in the same bottle. A teeny tiny notch above generic. Kinda bloaty.

2.7 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
UPDATED: NOV 2, 2006 Bottle (330ml - green). Bright clear gold, fairly bubbly, with a smallish quick-diminishing head. Grainy, somewhat skunky hop aroma,a little sweet. Taste is light, again the skunky/funky hops providing the bitterness that keeps the sweet grain/honey malt from dominating - it finishes pretty bitter, there’s a lot of hop character here. Average body, nice astringency and decent carbonation, longish finish - this would be excellent fresh, just the damned green bottle yields the usual skunk character - part marks for what I imagine it would be like, if that makes sense.

2.3 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottled. Very bubbly with medium off-white head. Thin smell that wasn’t very appealing. Malt taste with hints of lemon and grass. Satisfying but thin in the mouth, but got Much worse as the beer warmed up. Gave a very alcoholic aftertaste at times. Would drink it again if there wasn’t much else, but it would have to be chilled.

2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 9/20
UPDATED: SEP 14, 2007 Canned 0,33L.
Light and compact foam, short persistence. Shining yellow color, limpid and lightly bubbly. Simple and ordinary scent: notes of malt, cereals, fresh grass and hop. Pleasantly bitterish and coolness scent with grain and hoppy notes. Modest alcohol. Medium/short duration.

3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Draught at the Tap House in Norfolk, Va. Pours clear light golden into the glass, with a very small head and no significant retention nor lacing. The nose is of wet tobacco and mash. Flavors of honey, subtle tobacco hints, mash and sours dominate the very small, lightly bitter finish. This has a medium-light mouthfeel, quite refreshing for the summer dog days. Overall, it’s not truly indicative of a pils (to me, of course), but it does seem somewhat complex for its light body, and does offer a decent brew.

Bottle. Very pilsnery beer. Crisp, clean, and hoppy. Can’t say that I really find this beer to be too fantastic.

Again the green bottle can condemn this beer unless found in an unopened case/box. When at its best it is a very mild and pleasant pilsner beer with a good aroma and a full-body flavor. It is one of Austria’s best pilsners, although increased production and distribution in recent years may erode its quality as with other classic beers.

Canned. On the very sweet side, not a hop king by any means. I am amazed why they did’nt make a beer with this name more well hopped!

2.7 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
A light golden pils with a collapsing white head. Strong skunky aroma due to green bottle, with light grassy malt following. In mouth, a clean fresh malt with a nice german hop finish, lingering and decent. Bought at SAQ for 1.95$.
