1.8 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20
Canned. On the very sweet side, not a hop king by any means. I am amazed why they did’nt make a beer with this name more well hopped!

2.7 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
A light golden pils with a collapsing white head. Strong skunky aroma due to green bottle, with light grassy malt following. In mouth, a clean fresh malt with a nice german hop finish, lingering and decent. Bought at SAQ for 1.95$.

2.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
Bottle: Poured a golden color pils with a nice foamy pure white head with good retention. Aroma is slightly skunky which is not surprising considering the fact that it came in a green bottle and the brewery is probably 4000km away. Taste is also skunky (but not enough to covered the whole taste) with a nice hops finish. This is probably ten time better when pick-up fresh at the brewery and It is just a shame that they export this in green bottle.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Golden with a slight edge due to carbonisation. Not too bad but it does distract from the enjoyment of drinking this one.Dry initial taste that leads to a gentle sweetness. Quite a reasonable pils with a classy label.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottled - Criterion Leicester. A blonde coloured beer with a nice whitish head. The aroma is sweet and lagery with some grassy hops. The taste is quite thin but there’s some sweetish malts and noticeable hops. Tasty, clean and drinkable if a little short.

2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20
33 cl bottle. No yeast at the bottom. Clear pale yellow colour with a weak head. Aroma of saaz hops, also malt and corn. Crisp flavour with notes of hops, and little fruity. Ends up dry and bitter, very average for a pilsner.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Hopfen Konig Pils pours to a very bright, pale golden color with a thick white head, and a good bit of carbonation. The clarity on this beer is beautiful, you can literally see right though this beer. The nose on this beer is fantastic. Very fragrant, zesty, herby/grassy hop aromas flood the nose. The palate is crisp and clean with good pilnser malt flavors on the tongue. The body on this beer is very smooth and round, making for a very drinkable beer. Hopfen Konig Pils finishes with good pilsner malt flavor up front, then finishes with a wonderful, snappy, herby/grassy hop bite that slightly lingers.
This is a well done example of German Pils from one of Austria’s best breweries. It has a wonderful crisp and clean malt palate, and of course those signature Saaz hop notes in aroma, flavor, and bitterness. This beer would make a wonderful aperitif beer to get the appetite going, and would pair well with sea food or foul dishes. I would match this beer with a nice grilled piece of fish with lemon pepper butter.
