Earthy and smoke in the aroma while the appearance is similar to an EPA in appearance. The flavor is of caramel and a hint of smoked peat. The overall taste of this is similar to a light barley wine, its pretty good, unique.

Bottle with Nick. Pours clear gold with a big, white head. Sugary, malty aroma. Medium sweet flavor, bread, cereal, slight herbs. Light bodied with average carbonation. Sugar, malt and cereal finish. Pretty sweet. One-dimensional but OK.

Pours copper with a small offwhite head. Fruity aroma with raisins. Flavor is bitter caramel, nothing whisky related at all, but still rather drinkable

MacArthur Beverages, DC 330ml ($1): Pours a copper color with a one finger head that leaves lacing. Weird aroma... kind of like a scotch ale or an English Strong Ale, with all them malts, bubblegum, and other weird things. Taste is pretty much the same thing, although it is a little bit on the thin side of things. There are almost no hops in this beer at all. A little sweetness is there as well. Weird and maybe a little old.

Mellonius (73) - Rio de Janeiro, BRAZIL - MAY 21, 2011
Poured from a 330 ml bottle into a tulip glass. Beautiful amber color showing very good head formation and retention, with heavy lacing. Smell is heavily malty, with all sorts of grains, including rice (?). Couldn’t find any notes that reminded me of whisky, though. Good carbonation, with a light to medium bodied feel. Taste is fairly rich, bringing some citrus notes over a heavily malty background. Bitterness is adequate. Quite well balanced. Made me want to drink it again.

330 ml. bottle, pours an amber, rather than red, colour, with a good head that fades leaving a ring. Smell is poor, only grain and some malts. It feels good and carbonated in the tongue, but the taste is also poor: grains, malt, some caramel. I can’t find the whiskey anywhere in this beer. I enjoyed drinking it, but it’s not exactly what I expected.

Pours a dark amber colour with a frothy white head. Aroma is very grassy and toasted malt with grain and bread. Taste is basically the same. Little bitterness. Very dry and not too bad

0.33 l bottle from "Sörspecialista", Bp. Clear copper brown colour with a laceing and filmy remaining, off-white head and lively/fizzy carbo. Smells sweet-sourish with some toffee. Tasteing begins with a medium to thin mouthfeel and the sweet-sourish, clear aroma brings caramel, nuts and citrus along. The metallic and citric finish is escorted by nuts, which leaves at last a sweet-spicy aftertaste behind. Adequately balanced, rather average one.
