330ml brown bottle. Gold coloured brew, clear. White head with fine bubbles, a bit of lacing. Nose has sweet malts, bready notes. Taste has grains, bread and a touch of caramel sweetness. Finishes with medium graininess, touch of toasted grain and faint noble type hops. Average body and carbonation. Pretty simple vienna, drinkable, not very challenging. Barely any trace of whisky malt.

bottle, thanks baerwaldt - must admit i didn’t realise at the time that there was a newer version of this. alas, it resembles the old one - amber, cheap whisky aroma, rough sweaty malt with raw sweetness

Kita (860) - Koper, SLOVENIA - DEC 16, 2013
Bottled, 0.33l. Clear amber color with small creamy white head, fair lacing and soft visible carbonation. Aroma of caramel, vegetables, dandelions, bread and vanilla. Tastes of light sweet caramel and biscuit malt and moderate herbal bitterness at finish. Medium body, oily texture and lively carbonation in palate. Not so special as expected, but good enough to drink it easily...

Wellll it’s not red (more bronze) and as far as the whisky malts are concerned I ain’t tastin ’em. I was pretty disappointed overall. The aroma lead me to believe I was getting something more than what would come. A very dry lager with very faint malt flavor. The aroma has some alcohol and smoky malt to it, but none of that comes out in the flavor. Hmm, this one is a dud.

Geruch nach Eiche, leicht säuerlich. Auch nach schwarzem Tee/Bergamotte und Zitroneneistee. Geschmack dann leicht holzig mit Vanille.

Bottle from Sun devil liquors.pours musty, dirty brown with a thin khaki head. It looks like a long island ice tea. Unfortunately it smells and tastes like a flat soda. I’m really fighting myself to drink this. It;s just fucking nasty.

bartlebier (1162) - Belchum im Breisgau, GERMANY - AUG 9, 2013
33cl bottle, Interspar Bregenz Jul2013. Interesting tacky Austrian copy of British vintage label Kitsch, in combination with the cheapish and light bottle, this beer issues its own warning. Faint reddish brown pour, watery mouthfeel, hints of butterscotch and smooth caramalts in low doses. Not much else going on, hops are out of the picture. Second German/Austrian beer with whisky malts in a week, so far it is more underwhelming than their whisky barrel aged counterparts: maybe let the matured whisky, not the malts do the heavy work?
