Tranquillity (1165), Espoo, Finland Jun 30, 2007 Bier trip in Köln, yeah! Really malty, fruity aroma. Quite clear colour, small white head. It hides the alcohol well, but lacks a lot in taste. jgentgesdo (564), Tulsa, Oklahoma, USA Jun 24, 2007 Pours olive-oil yellow with small white head, no lacing. Nose is biscuit malt. Flavor of sweet malt, alcohol, and mild hops, along with some ester character. Metallic mouthfeel. Not much fun. kwoeltje (1313), Manchester, Missouri, USA Jun 23, 2007 (bottle) billed as a "red ale" on the bottle, but pours a light amber. Very small white head with a little lace. Faint malt/yeast aroma. Flavor is alcohol, clove, sweet malt. buckybeer (666), Eau Claire, Wisconsin, USA Jun 7, 2007 Pours a lightish amber with a small head. This one is hard to describe. Aroma is raw malts, grassy, grains. Not sure where they are getting the smoke from. I can’t locate it in the aroma. Flavor is boozy but also seems quite thin. Metallic malts, again with the no smoke. Not sure what else to say. Average at best. oberabcbbsok (686), Hoboken, Belgium May 19, 2007 Roast mout and a taste of alcohol makes this a rather good beer. Also you have a taste of coffee BDR (2139), Roseville, Minnesota, USA May 6, 2007 apple nose with light gold color with quickly disappearing head. Metallic body with bitter hop finish. Taste of apple juice and sweet malt. Skyview (4007), Papoose Jct., Minnesota, USA May 6, 2007 At first sight I thought this beer said "Nestlé" and wondered if this was a chocolate beer. Darn, I was wrong. Alcohol does make one see things slightly off. :-p Pours a light brownish amber but not as red as it’s description says. Head is thick white and lumpy and leaves a good lacing. Aroma has character of apple juice, sweet malt, banana and some brown sugar. Not much in smokiness. Taste is a little bit syrupy, acidic and metalic on the mouth roof. Finish is dry and syrupy. henry3r (586), Wichita, Kansas, USA Apr 25, 2007 The 350 ml bottle poured a crystal clear medium-amber colored beverage with a small fizzy white head that was mostly diminishing and left almost no lacing on the glass. The aroma was an interesting balance of caramel, grass and just a hint of wet ash. The body was medium with soft carbonation and a smooth, creamy texture. The flavor starts out moderately sweet and remains that way throughout the medium length finish. There is a slight alcohol warmth at the very end but no hint of a smoked flavor. I find it odd and wonder how this beer was classified as a smoked.
