Golden color (I don’t find red here), small foamy white head, lots of lace. Malty, fruity nose with berries. Malty, a bit roasted, berry flavor but same time crisp and a bit watery. Hides ABV extremely well. Nice hopping in flavor leaves enjoyable hopping to aftertaste.
And this is listed as Smoked? Not .. this is a Scottish Ale or an Old Ale.

Golden colored, medium sized white foam. Fruity and sweet malty aroma, little alcohol comes up too. Malty start with sweet fruity note, ending is strong and dry with some alcohol coming up, still 7.3% is covered pretty well. Somehow reminds me of some Belgians, still slight disappointment.

This is not red. But it’s a nice golden colour, with a head that dissapeared quite quickly. Has a bearable strong flavor, with no apparent hints of smokeyness. Why someone would call this "the whiskey among beer" is really beyond me.

Good golden transparent color, small white head that faded quickly leaving little behind.Malty sweet aroma with a hint of fruit and possibly hops. The flavor comes off much stronger then the aroma lets on.malty and sweet with a nice fruity side and the hops coming through mildly at the end.The smoke escapes me though it just doesn’t show up.All though as it warms up there is a very faint hint of smoke but it’s so faint that it’s hardly worth mentioning.I guess it’s worth trying at least once but it’s nothing special in any way.

Clear, golden color, not the red as advertised, with a full, fresh, white head. Aroma, clean, malty, rich, sweet, caramel-y...very interesting that an Austrian brewery tries for an Irish style, yet names it after Scotland and it’s legends... Taste: crisp and clean, malty, sweet, and rather one-dimensional, lacking in complexity, though high alcohol gives it an exra benefit, the appearance of an extra-character, but the liquor that accompanies this flavor is a shallow friend. Rich and malty...a very nice little beer, but nothing too special...that is , until I take the remainder of this bottle of Nessie and add it to a 2003 SN Bigfoot barleywine, for a combo I call "the Monster Mash", and you know what? It’s..the..BEST...BEER..EVER! Try one for yourself, seriously!

surprisingly pale and not very red. sweet, chemical aroma - paint and medicine. quite sweet, very light hint of smokedness and not a lot of other character

Light gold color with lots of tiny bubbles that form a average size head. Not much aroma or taste. Nothing spectacular.

this is really appalling for what I paid for this; the best part is it’s fruity sweet aroma; flavors of cheap whiskey, refined sugar, and iron; thin and astringent
