obisbeer (558), Barcelona, Spain Jul 19, 2004 Rich gold, very clear, fine bubbles and thin head. Sweet with some mettalic notes followed by citrus and candy sugar aromas. Fine tickle of carbonation, sweet front palate with medium weight. Clean refreshing finish with a nice light acidity showing up in the finish. Very interesting Hansen (2235), Randers, Denmark Jul 18, 2004 Why wasting words on this beer? It’s bouring like a danish strong lager. Alcohol and perhaps some hints of malt and hops.zzzzzzzzz AAO (102), Næstved, Denmark Jul 14, 2004 It´s to golden in the colo, and has a medium white head. Has a aroma witch is hops. The taste is bad... a weak hop taste but and ugly finish with reminds of *?iron*. Overall it´s a bad expencive beer ... BückDich (4785), McCall, Idaho, USA Jul 12, 2004 Clear gold color with very light head & light lacing. The aroma is sweet with some bright hops and caramel malts. Some light oak and smoke. The flavor is very dry with some light tangy hops and a bright clean sweetness that washes over your tongue. The finish is really dry with a light oaky tar endnote. Eh, not that good. ClarkVV (3578), Allston, Massachusetts, USA Jul 5, 2004 2003 bottle. Pours a medium straw yellow. Interesting that they call this one a red. Has a fleeting off white head and smells of light lemon, sugar cookies, some darker brown sugar and a hint of malted barley. Flavor is slightly syrupy, reminding me of a high gravity eisbock with its consistency and sweetness, similar to EKU 28. But it lightens up significantly, with some grassy/hay flavors, earthy hops and some dry malt. I can’t find any smoke, but the malt flavor is strong and good. Lightly fruity on the finish, a bit of sourness and a touch of yeast. Alcohol expertly masked. MMM...Beer (385), Las Vegas, Nevada, USA Jun 29, 2004 Wasn’t bad but wasn’t as good as I hoped. Simple in appearnce: golden body with a crisp white head; decent nose: hints of roasted malts and scotch; goodtate: kind of a smooth smokey-scotch taste. jfm (1694), Holbæk, Denmark Jun 16, 2004 Golden color with a white head. The taste is mild malty with mild, balanced, but present hops. Slight watery but the alcohol is well hidden. Suttree (2702), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA May 22, 2004 Sparkling gold, thin head, constant carbonation. Very appealing floral, winey, & woodsy aroma, plus maybe a slight scent of pears. Crisp flowery hop flavors to start. Thickish mouthfeel. Peppery through the taste with a slight hint of malty sweet at the finish. I really did not pick any smoked or whiskey flavors, it was more like a drier than normal triple. Tasty, nonetheless.
