| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 4/5 | 11/20 | Dec 13, 2007 Pours gold-copper with a one-finger white head. Very grainy, vegetal aroma with a bit of earthiness. Flavor is cloyingly sweet. Some smokiness comes off as metallic and plastic. Eggenberg could do better. And so can you. houseofwares (21), Chicago, Illinois, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Nov 16, 2007 12oz. bottle. Pours golden red in color with a shade darker than eggshell white head. The nose has rich smoked malt, with a vegetable soup aroma. The body is almost full with a viscous quality. The flavor is fruity with smoke, spice, and hops, which appear towards the end of the flavor and begin the finish. An interesting smoked ale worth trying. swoopjones (1897), Buffalo, New York, USA

| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 1/5 | 10/20 | Nov 3, 2007 Honey and grain aroma. Golden color, thick head. Grainy flavor, slightly metallic, slightly sweet. Leaves nothing worth mentioning on the palate. Absolutely no smoke quality. Nothing more than a mediocre premium lager. bboeckl (135), Grafton, Wisconsin, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Oct 27, 2007 Bottle. Golden yellow with thin head. Aroma has a slight smoked smell. Flat mouthfeel. I don’t find a lot in common with good whisky. I would not buy this one again. Prostman (1077), Pennsylvania, USA

| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Oct 15, 2007 Bottle. Pours a clear amber colour. Quite sweet toasty malty aroma. The flavour has toasted caramel and malt with some hops brew mash and a slight smokiness. Sweet malty finish. MadMan (497), Tempe, Arizona, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Oct 7, 2007 Bottle. Original Red Ale. Pours a clear gold to amber in color. Aroma is sweet, malty. Body is kinda flat and oily. Flavor is sugary, malty, has a slight bitterness at end. I suppose I missed the smokiness or difference in malt altogether. I was completey not impressed but now I kind of want to go get another one to "hunt" for the flavors I now know should be there. Funny, now I’m interested. Not good overall though.
