| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jun 4, 2008 Pours a rich golden body with a big foamy head.. which unfortunately doesn’t want to hang around for long. Very sweet aroma (of course), pale malts with apples and cherries, cut by a whiff of alcohol. Same sweet flavor with a touch of citric bitterness and a soothing alcohol hit. It finishes sweet and sticky with a low alcohol burn. Now This is a Doppelbock!

| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | May 25, 2008 Bottle at Belmont Station. Nice that you can buy at the store and drink on the Bistro side. Huge alcohol beer that I nursed between other samples. Orange amber. Light head. Sweet syrupy caramel nose. Flavour is syrupy sweet with a huge alcohol presence. Like a high octane liquid caramel toffee. FROTHINGSLOSH (1984), GREENSBURG, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | May 23, 2008 Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a vibrant golden amber color with a large soapy white head that faded quickly. The aroma was biting yet sweet, fruity and yeasty with noted citrus and alcohol on the nose. The flavor was tangy, yeasty, sugary and boozy with hints of cheap bourbon and a long sweet and tangy finish. The mouthfeel was very thick. The alcohol was so dominant that it really overwhelmed this one. grikmok (92), Fayetteville, Arkansas, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | May 20, 2008 Poured into a pilsner glass. Nice golden yellow body with a head that disappeared rapidly. Initial flavor of malts and alcohol. Finish was sweet. Interesting beer, but a little too sweet for me. The alcohol level was a little to much for the body of the beer. mugabe (216), Sweden
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | May 17, 2008 2007 bottle. Dark amber, dissipating thin head. Fruity apricot aroma of malt, sugar, and alcohol. Very sweet flavour and syrupy mouthfeel. A bit rougher than the regular Samichlaus. Turpentine finish. Very good winter warmer. f351c4v (404), Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | May 15, 2008 Pours a clear golden color with NO head. Super-sweet aroma actually overpowers the alcohol vapor. Sticky, malty body reveals a touch of light fruit, berries, and alcohol. Finishes warm. | 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | May 10, 2008 Pours with a small, rocky, white head, clear golden body. Head goes quickly leaving a blanket over the beer. Aroma of berries, dust and alcohol. Taste is ultra sweet with a bit of hay like tastes. Quite different, and not as much like an Eisbock as the regular Samichlaus. Some warming but the alcohol is well hidden in the taste. Mouthfeel is syrupy, as expected, with light cabonation.
