Samichlaus is brewed once a year on December 6, and is aged for 10 months before bottling. It is one of the rarest specialties in the world. Samichlaus may be aged in the bottle for many years to come, as older vintages become more complex. Brilliant deep amber, complex dry toasted malt nose and huge intensely sweet palate. The 2007 bottling is the first bottling since 1987. 32°

Clear dark golden pour with a few yellowish bubbles for a head. Aroma of malts, caramel, toffee and apricot. Taste of syrupy malts, caramel, apricot, and a hint of green apple hiding behind all the sweetness. Medium carbonation and a heavy creamy mouthfeel. Really enjoyed this.

Pours a clear deep amber with a quickly dissipating off white head. Strong floral aroma of honey. Very sweet honey flavor, caramel, golden raisins, with warming alcohol to follow, light carbonation, a bit of earthy finish. Excellent sipping, dessert beer, a very pleasant surprise worth searching out. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Honey aromas in the smell, but when you try it you will be surprised. A lot more where that came from. Unnecessary amounts of honey and sugar completed to intense sweetness that aren’t to good for the beer

Orange color with small head. Intensely sweet, cognac, apricots. Taste is also intensely sweet and boozy. Not exactly my type of beer. I’m afraid to get Diabetes from drinking this ^^

Bottle. The look is reddish amber in color, a thin disappearing head, and clear. The smell is vinous, fruit, alcohol, toffee, caramel, breads, and malts. The taste is thin, very sweet, fruits, toffee, alcohol, hot, caramels, ok. Not really my thing. Too sweet.
