COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Samichlaus is brewed once a year on December 6, and is aged for 10 months before bottling. It is one of the rarest specialties in the world. Samichlaus may be aged in the bottle for many years to come, as older vintages become more complex. Brilliant deep amber, complex dry toasted malt nose and huge intensely sweet palate. The 2007 bottling is the first bottling since 1987. 32°

Certamente se uno col freddo, vuol bere qualcosa per scaldarsi, allora può andare; ma a quel punto preferisco di gran lunga un bel vin brulè. Il primo sorso riesci a berlo, già al secondo pensi che mappazza...

Bottle at the DISOB tasting, Den Haag. Poured a clear copper colour with a glass hugging white head. The aroma is rich and alcoholic. The flavour is big bitter and alcoholic. It’s sweet on the palate too and probably tastes like a 19th century Wild West elixir!

Really interesting beer. Pours a reddish brown with a creamy white head. Notes of yeast, malt, and dried fruit on the nose. Very complex flavor with lots of yeast and dried fruit notes. So much going on! Warming too with the 14% abv not overly boozy though, well hidden. Solid beer, I’ll definitely be having this one again.

Bottle at home. Clear yellow, no head. Arome heavy malty (caramel, light fruit), alcohol. Flavor almost heavy sweet, some alcohol, well balanced by a medium bitterness. Full body, quite thin, lot’s of warming alcohol.
