First scent of sweet malt and figs. Very sweet, but with a strong tone of alcohol towards the finish. I feel like this beer is big for the sake of being big... not because it fits. Suitable for desert. jredmond (1027), New Jersey, USA

Strongest lager i the world?
You can only tell by the slight buzz in your head after finishing the bottle.
Beautifull colour and no head - apparantly due to the high alcohol level.
Caramel syrup.
I can tell that is is bottom fermented because it reminds me of EKU 28 though Samichlaus is much better. Smoother and more complex. cfrancis (311), Gloucester, Ontario, Canada

| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Feb 27, 2009 Bottle from sam the beer man. Nice dark red pour with a very small head. Aroma is of dark fruit, oak, and funk. Taste is strong alcohol, almost too much. Not great. but worth a shot. tennisjoel (937), Shakopee, Minnesota, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Feb 26, 2009 Deep red body with a minimal head. Aroma is caramel and literally nail polish. Candy like sweetness, oak, sherry with a warming finish. Very unique flavor, but I can’t say I enjoy it immensely. Just too sweet and alcoholic for my tastes. | 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Feb 25, 2009 LCBO bottle sample- Transparent deep amber pour with a fizzy off white cap that dies down to a thin ring. Nose is of woodsy boozy oak, sherry, caramel, dark fruits, aggressive hops. Tastes overly sweet and of prune, raisin, woody alcohol, over the top vanilla, burnt caramel. Quite heated and sweet on the finish. One bottle was enough. kkearn (997), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA

Impressively aroma, sweet with notes of raisin, apricot, brown sugar, ans a little spice. Flavor is rich and sweet, with notes of raisin, honey, caramel, and some chocolate. Full bodied, a bit syrupy. Alcohol snuck up on me. Perfect slow sipper.
