Barrios (852), Nashville, Tennessee, USA Jan 13, 2009 Bottle. Pours an off-white head with a dark amber body. Smells of dark dried fruits and alcohol. Doppelbock? Eisbock more likely to me. Aroma of apples with raisin. Dark amber color, off-white completely and fast disappearing head, no lace. Very sweet, bitter, apple, cinnamon, light herbal, malty. Sticky and warming. Ok, but nothing special and one dimensional. DerWeg (748), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Jan 11, 2009 Definitely a very big warming brew with the massive alcohol nicely enrobed in the elegant big malt profile - it’s not just sweet there’s flavor in there, and I will keep a few bottles for maturation. Bock-like in the subtle flavors, a whiff of wet hay. Coppery golden hue, a bit thick. Moderate silky carbonation. This will express itself in the aroma over the years and right now is a bit restrained in its potential, although extremely drinkable a it is. daniele (1642), Italy Jan 7, 2009 rame schiuma poca non persistente note maltate dolciastre caramello nocciola un po di ossidazone alcolica distillato lieve buin acorpo nocciola caramello lieve tostature un po di ossidato etilico riscaldante iammarc (193), Inverness, Scotland Jan 5, 2009 Bottle 2007. What a kick...loads of alcohol, chocolatey, caramel notes. Thin if any head at all. Pretty good but definitely drink to be savoured. hombrepalo (742), Chicago, Illinois, USA Jan 5, 2009 2008 on tap @ Hopleaf. Pours out a brownish red color with no head to speak of. Smell is fuity, caramel, some notes of alcohol. Taste is sweet and like caramel. Pretty much way too sweet, syrupy and malty. Some honey in the finish and lots of alcohol. Full-bodied. ratman197 (3137), Arvada, Colorado, USA Jan 4, 2009 Bottle 2007 poured a clear tarnished copper with a lingering ring of amber foam. Aromas of prunes, carmel, toffee and pepper. Palate was medium to full bodied and syrupy with a warming finish. Flavors of plum, apple, toffee, carmel, brown sugar and light spice with a smooth syrupyt warming lingering sweet finish.
