Commercial Description:
The once strongest beer in the world is back ! Brewed only once a year on December 6. Samichlaus is aged for 10 months before bottling. This beer is perhaps the rarest in the world. Samichlaus may be aged for many years to come. Older vintages become more complex with a creamy warming finish. Serve with hardy robust dishes and desserts, particulary with chocolates, or as an after dinner drink by itself. Brewed under the exclusive licence of Feldschlösschen-Hürlimann-Holding, Switzerland.

Amber colour, small head, creates a lid, no lacing. Smell is vinous, yeasty, malty with no apparent hops. Taste is very very sweet, honey, fruity, jam. Obviously alcohol is very noticeable but it is much less so than I expected from a beer whit such a high ABV. bubbles are medium and the liquid is very smooth. This beer is dangerously easy to drink almost makes you think that it needs to have a warning label.. Serving type: bottle

Served cold from 12 oz. bottle Pours amber in color with a small no discernible head. Very nice aroma of malts, caramel, some fruit and hops. Taste is very sweet at first with a hint of alcohol. Slightly bitter, warm finish. A very intriguing beer.

Pours a very dark copper with a small white head. The nose is nice, sweet malts, alcohol, toffee, caramel, a tiny hint of Noble hops, and a ton sweetness. Comes across the palate with a lot of sweetness. Actually its a bit boozy up front, then you get hit with this ridiculous amount of malty sweetness. That does a fantastic job hiding the high abv; its very thick and full feeling. I would highly recommend trying this one at least once.

An Amber colored beer, with an off-white head. It disappears quickly. The aroma of sweet caramel malt, with fruits. The taste of caramel with alcohol, fruits like cherries. The aftertaste is a little bitter, with alcohol and it is warm.

Bottling 06 from an 11.2 oz bottle. Pours a rusty amber with no head or carbonation. The nose is heavy alcohol with candied fruit and yeasty bread. Big flavor with sweet fruit, big malt and some hot alcohol. Real big beer. Will keep you warm on a cold winter night. Actually a little too much for me.

330mL bottle from the LCBO. Pours a very attractive dark copper with a small white surface film. Aroma is quite nice, olives, sweet Munich malts, alcohol, toffee, caramel, a tiny hint of Noble hops, and a whoooooole lotta sweetness. Flavour is like, BAM, sweetness to the max. Actually its boozy up front, then you get hit with this ridiculous amount of malty sweetness I cant even handle it. It actually hides the ABV somewhat well for how high it is. Wow. Its like, wow. Bam. Holy, living, f***. Very thick and full feeling, which it damn well better be at 14 percent. Holy crap. Big beer. Short sentence inducing. Sweet. Booze. Good? Yes. One bottle more than enough? Probably. The stupid LCBO know it all sticker on the back says its only 12point3 percent abv, and they are pretty anal about these things so they are probably right.

Poured amber with no head, a very pretty beer in the glass. The aroma is very remarkable, a rich malty, caramelly nose to it. The taste is highly on the cloying side, it is very difficult for me to finish. There is a very apparant caramel flavor, almost like a candy. There is also some pretty heavy alcohol flavor, the 14% is not disguised very well. I would put this in the afer meal sipper category.
