wingman333 (233), Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA Sep 2, 2009 Bottle...several years old. On the low end of carbonated, I liked the draft of this much better, but aroma of burnt caramel, and flavor of the same with pepper, orange zest, and dried fruit. Much like a cognac, tingly, like Grand Marnier. Enjoyable, but again, loved the draft much more. deyholla (507), Bloomington, Indiana, USA Aug 23, 2009 Bottle. Pours gold with a red tinge and a tan head. Aroma is sweet with a strong alcohol note. Flavor is dominated by alcohol notes with a sweet grainy start. It is quite thick on the tongue. JediMindTricks (240), Hampton, Virginia, USA Aug 21, 2009 An Amber colored beer, with an off-white head. It disappears quickly. The aroma of sweet caramel malt, with fruits. The taste of caramel with alcohol, fruits like cherries. The aftertaste is a little bitter, with alcohol and it is warm.
SeanMacGC (233), Dublin, Ireland Aug 20, 2009 Bottle, 2008 vintage. Pours lifeless reddish mahogany, will none-to-little head and carbonation. Aroma of sweet fruit and molasses. Similar on the palate, with notes of caramel and yeast. Well blended alcohol, and warming mouthfeel, and would imagine that it would improve with age. lowgun1212 (75), Montclair, New Jersey, USA Aug 17, 2009 clear reddish brown. thin head. smells of apples. tastes like maple syrup, lemon, vodka. pretty light on the tongue considering. Way too boozy for me right now. too young maybe? Beerman6686 (1266), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA Aug 16, 2009 This one poured a murky dark red/brown cxolor with a light tan head that was very small. Aroma was lots and lots of really sweet malt, some toffee and lots of alcohol as well. Flavor was also very sweet slightly sweet enoguh to cover up the hugew amount of alcohol and make this one drinkable. drowland (1360), Tallahassee, Florida, USA Aug 16, 2009 Tough to get much but alcohol on the nose; enormously sweet and smooth flavor with an alcohol finish skoll (123), Traverse City, Michigan, USA Aug 15, 2009 Thick caramel orangish red pour with a slight whitish carbonation but no head. Aroma is expectedly boozy, malty, with some cider and honey notes. Thick and syrupy, tastes of caramel, sweet malts, rum or cognac, honey and a booze nip at the end. A little alcohol heat, definitely a winter warmer I think I should have let it age a little.
