Jul 20, 2008 Brewed in 2007. Pours dark amber with a fully receding tan head. Aroma of thick chewy malt, caramelized wort, cherries, and plum. Thick bodied, heavy and syrupy with soft, stingy carbonation. Very strong and very intense.

Jul 17, 2008 Rusty, copper color. Smell of pepper, clove, cinnamon, malt, prunes, raisins, alcohol and brown sugar. Tastes the same and has a very dry, burning taste at the end. Mouth feels warm as does the rest of my body. Very nice.

Jul 11, 2008 This is a good strong (really strong) beer. Dark color, super tasty, a slow drinking beverage. So many flavors come from this its fun to enjoy. Only really good in colder times of year. A beer named after Satna Claus cant be bad :-)

Jul 4, 2008 You know it...this one is a lovely bomb...remarkable when it was brewed in Switzerland and still tasty out of Austria. Tastes best aged...two to ten years I’ll guess. If you’re rating it fresh, it’s too young, though still tasty. But after 5 or 10 years...ooooh!! I’ve been drinking this beauty since the early 1980’s and have finally realized that aged, Swiss or Austrian, this will hold its own to some of my favorites...De Dolle Stille Nacht, J.W. Lees, St. Bernardus Abt 12, Rochefort 10, Westy 10, DFH Raison d’etre, Avery Salvation, Sly Fox quad... ayieeee!!!!

Jun 30, 2008 Doesnt have much of a head, but has some fun lively carbonation that creates an ever changing cloud on top. Slight candied aroma. Soft but lively palate that is full and creamy. Very malty with a lot of sweetness to it. I’ll echo the sentiments of it being almost barleywine like. Some fruits and a bit of dryness at the end with very little aftertaste.

Jun 30, 2008 Thanks to ghawener. Drank it during Eurocup Final 2008. Sorry ghawener. The Santa Claus beer is to be drank in a cold evening, and could be combined with sweets. A heart warming brew that I could drink every christmas from now on.

Jun 29, 2008 Vinous, port aroma complemented by sugar and raisins. Alcohol really becomes apparent in the nose as it warms. Not much to look at: light mahogany with a soapy, thin head. Syrupy sweet, port wine taste with dates and some nutty flavour. Finished dusty and dry; medium-bodied and moderately carbonated.
