Commercial Description:
The once strongest beer in the world is back ! Brewed only once a year on December 6. Samichlaus is aged for 10 months before bottling. This beer is perhaps the rarest in the world. Samichlaus may be aged for many years to come. Older vintages become more complex with a creamy warming finish. Serve with hardy robust dishes and desserts, particulary with chocolates, or as an after dinner drink by itself. Brewed under the exclusive licence of Feldschlösschen-Hürlimann-Holding, Switzerland.

33 cL bottle, 2005 vintage. Pours slight darker orange compared to helles. Dark roasted and dried fruity aroma. Fullbodied. Flavour is sweet raisin like and with a mild malt base. Solid warming finish. Far more complex in flavour than the helles - but also with a slight oldish feel.

i wonder what it takes for a great beer to get an appropriate score. grape, plum honey and vanilla in a perfect smooth velvety creamy slick medium. not refreshing but completely satisfying.easy malt aroma and thouroghly comlpex and classic wintry taste. alcohol very well hidden for the volume. complex in so many ways. first thing i thought was why did’nt i just buy it sooner (probably the malt liquor connotation on the bottle) an absolute neccessity to experience.

Bottle from SpudClamDawg, thanks! 02 vintage. Clear amber color with no head. Aroma of molasses, dark fruit, and light alcohol. The taste was very sweet with massive/robust grape/plum flavors throughout. A massive/aggressive brew, not for punks or pussies. Rich ,thick, syrupy, and sticky on the palate. Developed that warming sensation in my chest. I like this stuff.

Pours a light whiskey color with no head. Robust sweet aroma of molasses and candied sugar and some dark fruit. Flavor is extremely sweet, too sweet for me to really enjoy. Notes of maple syrup, oak, alcohol, spice, and carmelized sugar predominate. Sticky palate.

Aroma has a lot of aggressive spice: clove and nutmeg. Quite sweet but not quite syrupy. Alcohol is surprisingly well integrated for being such a bruiser.
