yespr (11645), Copenhagen O, Denmark Nov 21, 2007 33 cL bottle, 2005 vintage. Pours slight darker orange compared to helles. Dark roasted and dried fruity aroma. Fullbodied. Flavour is sweet raisin like and with a mild malt base. Solid warming finish. Far more complex in flavour than the helles - but also with a slight oldish feel. BREWMUSKCLES (1062), New Jersey, USA Nov 20, 2007 i wonder what it takes for a great beer to get an appropriate score. grape, plum honey and vanilla in a perfect smooth velvety creamy slick medium. not refreshing but completely satisfying.easy malt aroma and thouroghly comlpex and classic wintry taste. alcohol very well hidden for the volume. complex in so many ways. first thing i thought was why did’nt i just buy it sooner (probably the malt liquor connotation on the bottle) an absolute neccessity to experience. rodenbach99 (678), Longueuil, Quebec, Canada Nov 18, 2007 330ml, brassin 2006. bière sans mousse ou presque couleur cognac, goût prononcé de malt, caramel, alcool, piquant sur la langue, sucré un peu trop.. Ty5592 (1015), Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA Nov 17, 2007 Bottle from SpudClamDawg, thanks! 02 vintage. Clear amber color with no head. Aroma of
molasses, dark fruit, and light alcohol. The taste was very sweet with massive/robust grape/plum flavors throughout. A massive/aggressive brew, not for punks or pussies. Rich ,thick, syrupy, and sticky on the palate. Developed that warming sensation in my chest. I like this stuff. lordeche (397), Quincy, Massachusetts, USA Nov 14, 2007 Pours a light whiskey color with no head. Robust sweet aroma of molasses and candied sugar and some dark fruit. Flavor is extremely sweet, too sweet for me to really enjoy. Notes of maple syrup, oak, alcohol, spice, and carmelized sugar predominate. Sticky palate. badlizard (2325), Berkeley, California, USA Nov 9, 2007 330 ml bottle from Bevmo. Clear maple syrup color with no head. Aroma of molassess, butter, and alcohol. Sweet brown sugar/molasses and alcohol taste with sticky palate and alcoholic warmth to the finish. swoopjones (1862), Buffalo, New York, USA Nov 8, 2007 On tap @ Pizza Plant walker. Big alcohol, cognac like aroma. sweet syrupy whiskey malt like taste with big alcohol presence. Definately a sipper. Not for me RCL (1443), Waltham, Massachusetts, USA Nov 5, 2007 Aroma has a lot of aggressive spice: clove and nutmeg. Quite sweet but not quite syrupy. Alcohol is surprisingly well integrated for being such a bruiser.
