Hazmatt (363), Virginia, USA Oct 1, 2007 2006. Bottle. Pours a deep amber with ruby edging and hardly any head. Aroma is very fuity with cherries dominating. Port like, vinous and full bodied. A heavy caramel malt or toffee flavor with subdued esters in the background. Complex and very smooth, deceptively smooth. Slightly warming but alcohol is well hidden. Excellent. kp (8400), Woodstock, Georgia, USA Sep 30, 2007 Updated: Jan 17, 2009

dkachur (2316), Charlottesville, Virginia, USA Sep 29, 2007 Bottle. Light bronze color. Little head. Faint but pleasing aroma. Strong flavor... a little overly sweet, but with a nice finish. TrevorFloyd (309), Connecticut, USA Sep 26, 2007 Light in color for a doppel, and the aroma came off as a bit weak, but this thing has enough flavor to make it up. Thick honey, some floral flavors, and a warming feeling of alcohol without a big alcohol flavor. Would be better on a colder night, I think. tarjei (1741), Bryne, Norway Sep 24, 2007 Updated: Nov 19, 2008330 ml bottle. Lovely amber color, small beige head. It´s very sweet and very fruity. Smells almost like gasoline... Alcohol is well hidden. This beer makes me happy. RSRIZZO (1345), Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA Sep 23, 2007 Had this beer on 8/5/2007 and it was a 2005 bottling. Aroma is rich and sweet, seems to be a bit like a Barley Wine. Color is a clear brown with very good carbonation and a thin loose head that dissipates instantly. Taste is rich and sweet. Starting with a full/medium body that gives you a sweet mouth feel right away and then goes down with a crisp feel that has a sweet sharp feel coming in at the end. The finish is a rich caramel sweetness that rides out with an alcohol feel warming you on the end. In the after taste there is a mild bitterness that fades in giving a faint dry feel after you sit a bit. I think it is more a Barley Wine then a Malt Liquor, but either way it is a great Winter brew. Grovlam (3790), Copenhagen, Denmark Sep 15, 2007 Bottle. Small beige creamy head that mostly diminished. Spare lacework. Clear and surprisingly sparkling body with an amber color. Explosive cherry notes of alcohol and dried fruit. Raisins, date, caramelized, cookie and nutty. Light grainy feel over the palate. Hint of alcohol in the sniff. Very full bodied with a somewhat thick texture, alcohol warming and a soft carbonation. Heavy sweet flavor with light alcoholic bitterness. Lovely lingering and warming raisin finish. elmatador00 (518), j-action-ville, North Carolina, USA Sep 13, 2007 Pours a dark translucent brown with a tan head. Amazing tastes of caramel, figs, spices. Alcohol is masked very well. Very smooth. Not a lot of carbonation. Finishes sweet.
