Commercial Description:
The once strongest beer in the world is back ! Brewed only once a year on December 6. Samichlaus is aged for 10 months before bottling. This beer is perhaps the rarest in the world. Samichlaus may be aged for many years to come. Older vintages become more complex with a creamy warming finish. Serve with hardy robust dishes and desserts, particulary with chocolates, or as an after dinner drink by itself. Brewed under the exclusive licence of Feldschlösschen-Hürlimann-Holding, Switzerland.

Deep blood red color with a brown tint. Very gothy beer- lots of cinnamon, prunes, plums and alcohol. A little caramel in the mix. Fantastic stuff. Bottle at Gulf Liquors, Miami Beach.

syrupy brown appearance with mild white head. nose of booze and dark crystal malt very little bitterness and very little hop flavor. a ton of malt flavor, likely munich and though i imagine it isn’t crystal, it sure tastes like it. the residual sugars prolong the flavor and though after knowing it is a lager, you can tell, but otherwise you would think this is an old ale. solid, if not a peculiar dopplebock

Pouring with almost no head above a clear and brown body, the aroma was immediately giving away some dark fruit and spices. Oh yes, and some alcohol, too. Tasted like a lot of alcohol, too, but not in an overpowering way. Wonder what a bomber of this stuff would do to you? Taste was sweet but not cloying, rather like an uber Quad, along with a quite solid mouthfeel. Sweet at the finish. A most memorable beer.

Lovely dark copper ... with very light lacing and little bubbles ... sweet cherry fruits nose... rich sharp alcohol ... some toffee ... quite a lot of pine ... fair bite .... syrupy ... just too alcoholic ... but an ok nip.

brown thick body small head mostly diminishing longevity. aroma: alcohol, dried fruits. flavor: heavy sweet and lightly bitter, it lacks balance. palate: lively carbonation, medium body, alcoholic finish and watery/oily texture. too alcoholic and too sweet

2007 bottle. Pours out dark and thick into a snifter. VERY winey nose but not overpowering just strong. nice strong fruit taste with definitely noticeable alcohol presence. Kind of syrupy mouthfeel and aftertaste is alcohol and fruit. Really good but wouldn’t drink it everyday. a solid cigar beer.

Pours a crazy amber with a minimal amount of bubbles on the surface. Boozy nose with notes of caramel and ripe fruit. Tastes of alcohol, spice, dark fruit like plums, and maybe some toast notes. It’s kind of like liquid waffles with syrup. Thick texture, full body. Not your everyday beer that’s for sure.
