bruale (7), Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA does not count Nov 25, 2006 Updated: Dec 1, 2006Bottled in 2005. Poured with a slight head that quickly disappeared. Aroma was malty and complex. Reddish, copper color. Smooth flavor, sweet, medium body. Warm alcohol presence that’s not overwhelming and continues all the way down. Tasty, would try again. Illini08 (528), Raleigh, North Carolina, USA Nov 23, 2006 2003 bottle. Duane shared some of this with me. Light amber color. Sweet malty aroma along with some booze apparent. Very sweet flavor, caramel and some vanilla. Long, warming finish. JamieTonkin (1), England does not count Nov 23, 2006 I was looking forward to this but was sadly disappointed. No problem with the appearance or nose - just the high alcohol sensation on the palate. Even with food it didn’t lessen the blow. I’d prefer something a little more subtle. PilsnerPeter (2585), Flushing, New York, USA Nov 23, 2006 Pours orangey, amber hue with no head. Nice aroma, almost like a quality barley wine. Oakey, vanilla touch and maple-like. The flavor is extremely sweet. Nice toasty vanilla flavors and a viscous honeyish aspect. Light hints a caramel soaked raisins, huge maltyness, and a subtle cinnamon aspect. This beer is extremely close to being great. If there was less sweetness more complexity would come through. The flavor is still delicious though, and will definitly be amazing with age. alexanderj (2213), Chino Hills, California, USA Nov 21, 2006 Bottle. Pours a very rich amber color; minimal head. Aroma of alcohol, fruit, fig, caramel and maybe a subtle yeast. Alcohol was not overwhelming on the taste. Body was nice. Flavor of alcohol, malt, fig, caramel. Definitely a beer to sip and enjoy. Rooney31 (42), USA Nov 20, 2006 11.2 oz bottle: Pours a clear amber color with zero head. Has a raspberry vintage wine aroma. The taste is definitely brandy like. The alcohol compliments the style terrifically. A nice after dinner beer. henry3r (586), Wichita, Kansas, USA Nov 20, 2006 I poured The 11.2 ounce bottle into a brandy snifter. It was a crystal clear dark reddish amber colored beverage with almost no head at all and what little there was disappears almost immediately. It was really quite beautiful ... think how a glass of aged brandy would look and you have it. The aroma was quite nice as well. There were notes of dried fruit, aged leather, spices, raspberries and caramel. The body was very full with just a hint of carbonation and a wonderful smooth texture like velvet. The flavor started out quite sweet like a fine desert wine with a light fruitiness and a heck of an alcohol kick. The finish was very long and warming. This beer was more like a beautifully aged and smooth sweet brandy than a beer. OMG!!! oh6gdx (8798), Vasa, Finland Nov 20, 2006 Bottled. Reddish copper colour, small head. Aroma is alcohol, vanilla and caramel along with some yeasty hints. Flavour is alcohol, sugary, caramellish and warming. Pleasant to sip from, but was not hard drinking fast either. It gently rips your senses and suddently you note you are not sober anymore...
