Palidor19 (1270), Brandon, Florida, USA Jul 15, 2007 WOW!!! A beer for a king. The Aroma is pure caramel, dark rich fruits and oaky nuttiness. The palate is a step below of a syrup like palate. The malts is pure malts, brandy like flavor, toffee, plums, I’m sure the storage is in vintage wood barrels that makes it special. warms your entire body. drink in stride.
alexsdad06 (619), Ohio, USA Aug 22, 2008 2007 bottle. Pours a crystal clear copper color with a small dirty white head. The aroma is sweet, alcohol, some caramel, and slightly fruity. The flavor is a whole lot of sweet malt and alcohol. Dark fruitsmand a little vanilla make a small appearance. This is on the thick, oily side of things. I think it may be a bit too sweet for me. Borresteijn (506), Amstelveen, Netherlands Aug 19, 2008 2005 vintage. Reddish brown colour, thin white head. Aroma is strong, very malty and alcoholic, glue. Flavour is very sweet and malty, which spoils it for me. Too sweet. Can’t get any of the other flavours out. Thick and creamy mouthfeel. Didn’t enjoy this at all. joekinty (177), rockledge, Florida, USA Aug 12, 2008 1996 vintage thanks homer321 Very great aroma strong sherry notes thick and syrupy very complex great beer SCBrew (19), San Clemente, California, USA Aug 12, 2008 Pours clear Redish Brown. Very musty aroma that turned to sweet as the beer sat. Very sweet and alcoholic . Too sweet for me. MonsterMunch (3), Newbridge, Ireland does not count Aug 12, 2008 brewed 2007 - A dark clear beer with the scent of strawberry jam. Slightly less jam on the taste and a finish like a tawny port without as much of the sweetness.
Definitely one to have in your stocks as the best before date is seven years after birth but would probably last longer.
