COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The once strongest beer in the world is back ! Brewed only once a year on December 6. Samichlaus is aged for 10 months before bottling. This beer is perhaps the rarest in the world. Samichlaus may be aged for many years to come. Older vintages become more complex with a creamy warming finish. Serve with hardy robust dishes and desserts, particulary with chocolates, or as an after dinner drink by itself. Brewed under the exclusive licence of Feldschlösschen-Hürlimann-Holding, Switzerland.

Amazing malty experience, no head, super sweet a little sticky. Heavy palate. Best extreme dopplebock I’ve had.

2014 brew, enjoyed on 12/28/2014... Yum! Clear dark brown with little carbonation (sing: tiny bubbles), smooth, Ho ho ho! Bursting with flavor. Very sweet caramel and grape jelly balanced by an upfront hop bitterness and a light smoky aftertaste.

@ Norra Ankargatan 141226. Bottle (330 ml) from Systembolaget. Sweet caramely and malty with dried fruits (mostly raisins and figs) and alcohol, really sweet and sugary, medium body with a watery texture. The finish is sweet and warming with quite a lot of alcohol. A bit too sweet.

Poured from bottle. Pours a reddish copper color with a 1 finger head that quickly dissipates. Aroma is full of rich malt, caramel, almost like a crime brûlée. Taste is rich and thick and ful of malt, caramel, and light vanilla notes. Alcohol is present, but not overpowering. Great long creamy finish. This certainly is a classic and its reputation is well deserved.

Drink cold (8-10°) Eye: Pours a ruby-brown transparent color with a quickly dissipating beige head. Medium carbonation. Nose: dark fruit, raisins, slight taste of fermentation. Mouth: candy, sweet cherries, fir, resin, sweet malts, berries, plums and other dark fruit. oily/sirupy texture. Palate: caramel, candy as well, sweet licorice. Overall: nice beer but booze kicks in rather quickly. a bit too sweet and boozy and with a lot of raisins just not that much on the complex side.

Enjoyed in Christmas Eve 2014. Pours dark amber with a thin off white head that quickly disappears. Aroma is grain, toffee, caramel, and raisins. Sticky sweet syrupy mouthfeel. Flavor is sweet caramel malt with toffee and vanilla notes, raisins, and cherries. Finishes with big booziness. Alcohol vapors in finish. This is a big beer. A lot of big fruity flavors and booziness.

2011 Bottle into snifter. Pours a clear dark brown colour with no head. Aroma is of prune and raisin with some alcohol. Taste is fruity with sweet malt. Kinda like a fruitcake. A nice beer to have once a year. -- rated via 'Find A Beer' for Blackberry 10

330ml bottle from Erzbierschof, 2013 edition. A dark flat, but very strong and sweet beer. Boozy nose. Complex and balanced, very tasty. But one of them is definitely enough as the 14% are still present.

Bottle. Pours cloudy clear clean Amber with one finger creamy beige head, which disappears completely. Aroma is marmelade! Malty, sweet plums, juicy prunes, dried fruits, bread crust, slight toast. Taste is really sweet toffee! Dried fruits, marmelade, toasty caramel, burnt sugar, full body with balanced booze in finish thatakes this beer dangerously drinkable. A classier sipper!
