The altered citizenship from Switzerland to Austria hasn’t really changed any of it’s qualities. Mahogany in colour. Extremely big nose as soon as you open the bottle. Figs, dates but mostly...raisins! Almost like a good portwine. This is simply yummy stuff and one of my absolute favourites. 291204 Maria (6345), Thisted, Denmark

It’s a vintage 2004 and I tasted it November 2005. The aroma has notes of roasted malt and dark fruits. The flavour is initially very sweet, but then it’s just a nice sweetness wit notes of roasted malt, candy sugar, dark fruits and towards the finish also citrus. It’s incredibly full-bodied and even it it’s 14% I do not find notes of alcohol - pretty impressing! And it is an impressing beer - to put it short! That smell of plums and oak wood makes this beer very special. Very smooth beer. I’ve been drinking this beer since 2001 and as the years go by, i’ve started tasting this beer in a tulip wine glass, one word... WOW!.... Extremely complexe tasting beer, should almost be tasted as an appitizer. The more it gets close to room temperature the better it is / smells. Should be tasted around 12-14 degrees celcius. oberabcbbsok (686), Hoboken, Belgium

The suis one on bottle the austria one on draft in 2001 in Philladelfia. Still have some Suise bottles and trying to retaste it together with 2 botles of Austria of a different year. A hard beer to taste. A real scotch under the beers. Just nip from it, to strong to taste it differently. reddragon (28), Chattanooga, Tennessee, USA

For christmas time :) Pours amber brown with a almost no white head. Aroma is very nice, nutty, very nutty, strong ripe dark fruits and a bit vinous and vinegar. Flavor starts with a strange sort of cough syrup, off putting for the initial second but wow, gives a strong caramel toffee, super sticky and rich. Wow, the toffee and dark fruits are so deep, its like biting straight into a pile of fruit, straight out of a painting! Plum and even more rich extremely overripe fruit. So good. Medium to full body and a soft carbonation. Wow, amazing, I gotta get a bottle to let sit for awhile. stankenk (130), Maplewood, Minnesota, USA
| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Dec 16, 2008 Pours a very dark copper with a small white head. The nose is nice, sweet malts, alcohol, toffee, caramel, a tiny hint of Noble hops, and a ton sweetness. Comes across the palate with a lot of sweetness. Actually its a bit boozy up front, then you get hit with this ridiculous amount of malty sweetness. That does a fantastic job hiding the high abv; its very thick and full feeling. I would highly recommend trying this one at least once.
