Bhops (200), Dallas, Texas, USA Jun 14, 2008 Dang this thing has some alcohol! Pours bourbon colored amber. Little to no head. Aroma of funkiness and sweet malitniness. Flavor of sherry, alcoholic nose but well hidden. Goes down smooth. This is a good beer. No wonder this beer turned bullzeye on to good beer.
CaptBier (252), Birmingham, Alabama, USA Aug 31, 2008 Bottle. This is a fantasticly amber colored beer with no head. The aroma is very powerful with notes of fruit especially apricot. The flavor is also sweet with strong notes of apricot. This beer is great as a digestive. All in all it is plain great. fidel (140), Livermore, California, USA Aug 31, 2008 Updated: Sep 4, 2008Thanks, AgentSteve. Dark amber, sweet, caramel, dark fruits, malty, little vanilla, little alcohol, like candy. AgentSteve (757), Livermore, California, USA Aug 30, 2008 Updated: Aug 31, 2008Year old bottle pours burnt caramel with a touch of red and no head. Nose is sweet with caramel, rasins and other dried fruits along with some sugars. The flavor follows right along, with toffee and brown sugar sweetness abounding. Had after some BBQ tri tip, so it was awesome after the salty meat. Great dessert beer with a medium to full mouthfeel. A bit hot in the finish. alexsdad06 (620), Ohio, USA Aug 22, 2008 2007 bottle. Pours a crystal clear copper color with a small dirty white head. The aroma is sweet, alcohol, some caramel, and slightly fruity. The flavor is a whole lot of sweet malt and alcohol. Dark fruitsmand a little vanilla make a small appearance. This is on the thick, oily side of things. I think it may be a bit too sweet for me. Borresteijn (541), Amstelveen, Netherlands Aug 19, 2008 2005 vintage. Reddish brown colour, thin white head. Aroma is strong, very malty and alcoholic, glue. Flavour is very sweet and malty, which spoils it for me. Too sweet. Can’t get any of the other flavours out. Thick and creamy mouthfeel. Didn’t enjoy this at all.
