Commercial Description:
The once strongest beer in the world is back ! Brewed only once a year on December 6. Samichlaus is aged for 10 months before bottling. This beer is perhaps the rarest in the world. Samichlaus may be aged for many years to come. Older vintages become more complex with a creamy warming finish. Serve with hardy robust dishes and desserts, particulary with chocolates, or as an after dinner drink by itself. Brewed under the exclusive licence of Feldschlösschen-Hürlimann-Holding, Switzerland.

2007 12oz. bottle. Pours a mildly dark brown with a very small white head that dissapears after a few moments. Nose is raisin and plum. Flavor is very sweet malt along with raisin and plum. Some peppery spices in the mouthfeel.

From the Beverage Barn in East Meadow, NY. Aged in my basement since last August. Beautiful aroma of dark fruits, alcohol, oak. Very attractive rusty red to brown color and a clear, modest white head. Nice sweetness in its flavor, sweet malts, candy sugar, slight alcohol 9especially for 14% ABV). The finish is sweet, and has a pleasant alcohol burn. Thick, oily mouthfeel. Nicely crafted beer. Definitely a winter beer. Not really like a dopplebock, it is more like a barley wine, without any hoppiness.

This beer is just too much for me. The alcohol burn gets me just too much. Dont get me wrong, this is a well done beer, just too much for me. Very dark amber color with a malty as hell aroma. Dark fruit, caramel and syrupy. The alcohol hits you at first, in the middle and the end. Pretty damn strong. A slow sipper for sure.

Brewed in 2007. Pours dark amber with a fully receding tan head. Aroma of thick chewy malt, caramelized wort, cherries, and plum. Thick bodied, heavy and syrupy with soft, stingy carbonation. Very strong and very intense.

Rusty, copper color. Smell of pepper, clove, cinnamon, malt, prunes, raisins, alcohol and brown sugar. Tastes the same and has a very dry, burning taste at the end. Mouth feels warm as does the rest of my body. Very nice.

This is a good strong (really strong) beer. Dark color, super tasty, a slow drinking beverage. So many flavors come from this its fun to enjoy. Only really good in colder times of year. A beer named after Satna Claus cant be bad :-)
