The once strongest beer in the world is back ! Brewed only once a year on December 6. Samichlaus is aged for 10 months before bottling. This beer is perhaps the rarest in the world. Samichlaus may be aged for many years to come. Older vintages become more complex with a creamy warming finish. Serve with hardy robust dishes and desserts, particulary with chocolates, or as an after dinner drink by itself. Brewed under the exclusive licence of Feldschlösschen-Hürlimann-Holding, Switzerland.

Pours a dark amber red color, topped with a very small, almost none, off-white head. Malty aroma, some caramel and dried fruits with quite boozy feel to it. Taste is sweet and very malty, with evident alcohol which is a bit over the top. Not really enjoyavle, too strong.

Sin duda, una de las mejores cervezas que he probado. Aroma afrutado y envolvente, sabor ligeramente alicorado, suave y armónico.

Been saving 2008 Vintage for some time now. Opened bottle today. Nice pour into snifter. Minimal head. Thin rim around edge of glass. Brown with slight red hue. Small amount of yeast sediment. Don’t let that detract from this outstanding brew. Salute to my father in law. RIP. So far, this brew still continues impress with age. 2008 was not as impressive 3 years ago. Now hitting it’s prime. Fantastic raisin with brown sugar hints. Will update in few years when next few bottles are set free!

Bottle from 2014. Gorgeous appearance, ruby liquid with virtually no head, yet rather carbonated. Aroma of fruit tree tar, some candy and burnt sugar. Massive body, very sweet to the point of burnt sugar bitterness, with nuances of rum. Very complex and massive sipping beer to enjoy as a dessert.

This is becoming one of my favorites. I thought it was a bit too sweet the first time I had it, but it has definitely grown on me.

Bottle, 330ml. A dark ruby red beer with a medium size foamy head. Aroma is of dried fruits, roasted malt, alcohol and wood. Taste is bitter with an alcoholic and somewhat sweet finish. Reminds me of an oporto. Strong alcholic character with condiderable astringency and almost no carbonation. Nice after a big meal.

Color coca cola para entendernos. Escasa espuma Aroma tremendo. A bizcocho borracho. Pasas. Algo de pera.... Una explosión de sabores en boca. Dulce, amargo, ácido.... increíble. Caramelo... Es un cervezote para acompañar postres mucho mejor q cualquier PX que se precie. Disimulados esos 14 gradazos. Un espectáculo.

I shoulda read that abv on this one. Got my a$$ kicked accidentally by the 14 pct. Pours extremely flat and has a liquor quality that makes it a true sipping beer. Almost has a quad-like flavor with some malt liquor.

Hard roasted malt and lots of heavy fruit aromas rising from my glass. Foaming is poor and quickly disappears. As lagers of 14% alcohol it’s probably the strongest of its kind. It has a malt sweetness mixed with strong shades of ripe fruit (plum, raisin, prunes) makes it much peculiar. Alcohol heat spreads quickly, but it never really truly dominant. Sweetness level is high but it abstracts fruit acid significantly. Unfortunately I can not completely ignore the fact that it is added antioxidant and ascorbic.
