The once strongest beer in the world is back ! Brewed only once a year on December 6. Samichlaus is aged for 10 months before bottling. This beer is perhaps the rarest in the world. Samichlaus may be aged for many years to come. Older vintages become more complex with a creamy warming finish. Serve with hardy robust dishes and desserts, particulary with chocolates, or as an after dinner drink by itself. Brewed under the exclusive licence of Feldschlösschen-Hürlimann-Holding, Switzerland.

Numerosas botellas. Aromas y sabores intensos bastante licorosos, tipo vinos. Cuerpo intenso con 14 vol algo denso seco y con bastante sensación alcoholica. Bastante buena. Para repetir.

Shared 11.2 oz. bottle. 2014 edition. Pours amber with a listless small off-white that quickly fades away. Aroma is ultra-sweet with caramel malt, licorice, dark candied fruits, and alcohol. Taste is similar - extremely cloying, malty, molasses, candied fruits, sugar and alcohol. Very sweet, malty, syrupy and alcohol-laden finish with little bitterness. Tough to finish even half a bottle. Not my cup of tea. Would have probably paired well with the drain of my sink.

Aroma: malty and sweet with some wine undertones; Appearance: dark red with thin head that disappears quickly; Taste: Wow. That’s sweet. Some maltiness but overwhelming, cloying sweetness is dominant flavor. Palate: medium-heavy body with long, sweet finish; Overall:more similar to cough syrup than beer.

Malto, miele, prugna, uva passa, alcool. Lontani sentori di cioccolato. Lungo warming.

Good beer. One that has to be sipped slowly. Drinkability is low for this one. Flavor is plentiful. Massively sweet, so it may come off as cloying to some. Gets better as it warms up. No hops anywhere, just a pure malt bomb. Mouthfeel is smooth and on the heavier side.
